Therefore, it is necessary to practice by abandoning obstacles, the causes and conditions, and the adverse conditions and obstacles, are explained by "Buddha's teachings and generosity, etc." Although the teacher combines this with the pure path, it has the same meaning as the former, that is, practicing the causes and conditions, and abandoning the obstacles, must also be done before the two meditation paths, because there is no change between them. However, the power of the synonym "This is the pure cause of faith" is best combined with the former. In explaining the pure path, the purity of the four nobles is generally explained, that is, "the pure fruit, form, etc." Its meaning is that the purity of the four nobles, when completely purified from defilements, its objects such as form are also purified by that defilement. Then, if the Buddha's wisdom is purified by defilements, does it mean that all knowable things are purified by defilements? This is in terms of self-appearance, because in self-appearance, all dharmas appear in various ways as complete and perfect enlightenment. Then, which defilements are abandoned to establish the purity of which noble one? The differences in purity are explained separately, that is, "the three of afflictions, knowable things, and paths," etc. It is the purity of the Hearer because it is only purified by the afflictive obscurations of the self-nature cause, the uninterrupted path, and the liberation path; based on this, it is the purity of the Solitary Buddha because it is only purified by the obscurations of knowledge and the dualistic grasping; it is the purity of the Bodhisattva because the three obscurations of the paths of the three vehicles are completely purified; it is established as the purity of the Buddha because all obstacles are purified, that is its meaning. If it is thought that this is the time to explain the pure path, and explaining the purity of the four nobles is not appropriate, then in order to easily understand the differences in abandonment of the pure path, which is the main content of what is being said, it is necessary to explain the purity of all four nobles, this is in terms of this. How to understand it? The pure path, possessing a pure nature, surpasses the first two purities through abandonment, that is, the first purity only abandons what is to be abandoned by the Hearer, the second purity only abandons what is to be abandoned by the Solitary Buddha, and you, on the basis of these two, abandon the seeing and abandoning that have become what is to be abandoned by the Great Vehicle path, and

Because the obscurations and the objects to be abandoned of the self-nature cause, the path of meditation, the part of the uninterrupted path, are abandoned, therefore, the three obscurations of the path of the three vehicles are abandoned. From the perspective of the purity of the Buddha, it is inferior from the point of view of abandonment, because all the obscurations have not been abandoned. It is understood in this way. Therefore, although pure meditation path is the main topic here, in order to understand its difference, the other three purities above and below must also be shown, so the key to showing the purity of all four noble ones lies in this. For example, as mentioned above, to know the path of the self-realized one, to know that the path of self-realization is more superior in the type of realization than the path of the Hearers, and more inferior in the type of realization than the path of the Bodhisattvas. All the paths of liberation in the continuum of the noble Bodhisattva are not pure meditation paths, because the path of liberation of the seeing path of the Bodhisattva is also the purity of the Bodhisattva mentioned here. So, what is the reason why the pure meditation path is shown in the way of abandoning the three obscurations of the path of the three vehicles? As mentioned above, the path to be known is divided into three types: the path of the Hearers to be known, the path of the self-realized one to be known, and the path of the Bodhisattva to be known. The pure meditation path is, when showing the latter path, will the objects to be abandoned also only abandon the types of objects to be abandoned by the Bodhisattva, and the realization also only be the types of realization of the Bodhisattva's path? Such doubts arise, and in order to cut off this doubt, it is shown that the objects to be abandoned are the types of objects to be abandoned by the path of the three vehicles, and the realization is also complete with all the types of realization of the three vehicles. Because it is shown in this way. In the direct display of the teacher's explanation, in the chapter on pure meditation path, if it is said that the purity of the Hearers and others is not the most extreme, and the purity of the Buddha is the most extreme, then what is the difference between the two? Because the meditation path of the Great Vehicle is the real antidote to all the cognitive obscurations and afflictive obscurations of the three realms. This is shown in "The nine grounds are great," etc. At that time, the antidote arises from small to large, and the objects to be abandoned are destroyed from large to small. To refute the argument that the order of abandoning and antidoting like this is unreasonable is shown by "By abandoning the argument," etc. It is said in this way, and its meaning is brought into play.
