Furthermore, when placed in the post-meditation state, the ability to draw upon that is obtained in the eighth moment of equipoise. Likewise, the special actions of body and speech in the post-meditation state that establish non-retrogression should also be understood in the same way, so that all the arrangements of above and below will be realized without contradiction. Seventh, in the Mahāyāna path of seeing, at the time of the acceptance of the dharma of suffering, the twelve hundred thousands of qualities as explained in the Daśabhūmika Sūtra, the lion's roar as spoken of in the Perfection of Wisdom Sūtra, and the samādhis of transcendence, and as it is said in the Ornament of the Sūtras, "The qualities that accord with the bodhisattva's enlightenment, all kinds of varieties, are always obtained simultaneously with this path of seeing." As it is said, the seven branches of enlightenment and the eightfold noble path, etc., are obtained simultaneously with inconceivable qualities, and in the state of equipoise, one is single-pointedly placed in equipoise on the meaning of the nature of reality, free from elaboration. Therefore, although one cannot directly realize these, the meaning of abiding is to directly realize those qualities in the post-meditation state of the first ground. The seven branches of enlightenment are complete in the nature of the equipoise of the path of seeing, but although the eightfold noble path is obtained as a power in equipoise, its direct realization arises in post-meditation, so it appears to be established from the path of meditation, like the absorption of transcendence. Fifth, refuting all objections is fourfold: refuting contradiction with other tenets, refuting contradiction with other self-tenets, refuting contradiction with the texts of followers, and refuting similarity with the way of abandoning what is to be abandoned by meditation. First, if it is said that it contradicts the four uninterrupted paths and the four paths of liberation, which are eight in total, as explained in the higher Abhidharma, that is a difference of tenets, as has already been explained above. And in the Treasury of Knowledge, eight uninterrupted paths are spoken of, in the Compendium, four, and here one is established, and it should also be understood that this is the meaning of "Yogis also, by the difference of intelligence, the higher and higher harm the higher and higher." Second, if it is said that with one uninterrupted path, all that is to be abandoned by seeing is abandoned simultaneously, but the Uttaratantra says, "Just as reeds and so forth grow gradually, cutting seeds, husks, and so forth, so the path of seeing grows gradually, causing the abandonment of what is to be abandoned by seeing."

If it is said that this is contradictory, then its meaning is as follows: From the heat stage of the path of application, until the moment when the kṣānti of suffering-dharma-jñāna has not arisen, it is established that the path of seeing arises in stages. Because the path of seeing is a precursor to the non-arising of non-conceptual wisdom, it is established as the heat stage. Since the four of the path of application arise in stages, therefore, abandoning the four manifest conceptualizations to be abandoned by the path of seeing means abandoning the to-be-abandoned of the path of seeing in stages. When the kṣānti of suffering-dharma-jñāna arises, it is established that the path of seeing has arisen, and from the moment after that, one is separated from all that is to be abandoned by the path of seeing. For example, when the seed is under the ground, the sprout grows gradually, the seed shell breaks gradually, and when the sprout comes out of the shell, it is as if the shell has been cut off. If this is done, then in the auto-commentary of the Engaging in the Bodhisattva Deeds, the metaphors mentioned in different sutras, such as the newly born son of a universal monarch, the fledgling garuda just emerging from its egg, the first day of the waxing moon, the newly sprouted shoot of a tree, etc., these meanings of the metaphors correspond to the first bhūmi bodhisattva. If the moments of jñāna and kṣānti are connected with the gradual abandonment of the to-be-abandoned of the path of seeing, then it will contradict most of the Mahāyāna canon. Third, if it is said that in the Minor Commentary, the four uninterrupted paths encompassed by the four truths, which are said to be the path of abandonment, must be connected with the path of seeing, therefore it contradicts the statement of only one uninterrupted path. Then, it is not necessarily the case that it must be connected with the path of seeing alone. Even if it is connected, it is from the perspective of understanding the nature of the four truths in the kṣānti of suffering-dharma-jñāna itself, just as the four stages of the path of seeing, the peak of application, are established from the perspective of abandoning the four to-be-abandoned. Regarding this, in the commentaries of the great and small masters, there is only the statement "the four uninterrupted paths encompassed by the four truths," and in the Two Manifestations, there is only the statement "the path of abandonment relies on the four aspects of the truths," without clearly stating what it is connected with. Buddhapāla summarizes the dharma-jñāna-kṣānti of the four truths into four aspects. And connects it with the four kṣāntis of the path of seeing. Dharmamitra believes that the nature of the path of abandonment is
