It is said to be the antidote of giving and the antidote of suppressing. Moreover, from this very point it is said to be the antidote of viewing as Dharma, and you yourself have said so, so it is not contradictory as an antidote, and after thus preventing, it is considered to possess what should be abandoned. Although there seem to be very many such systems, the key meaning is this: The scripture itself says that, just like the nature of heat and so on, it possesses the four discriminations, and it says "has shown," so it is unreasonable to explain the meaning of the word "possesses" as possessing what should be abandoned, because if the word "possesses" is combined with what should be abandoned, it would be too extreme. In the Nirsnang also it says that the first and second, which are in accordance with the aspect of determination, become the two discriminations of the apprehended in order, and the third and fourth are also the two discriminations of the apprehender. In the Commentary Small also it says: Like those four discriminations, and the four that are in accordance with the aspect of determination, are possessed in number. It has been said like this, but it has not been said at all that it possesses what should be abandoned. However, it is not accepted that the path of joining is not what should be abandoned, because the four discriminations that are directly shown in this context are to be abandoned by the path of seeing, therefore, the antidote for abandoning them has two paths, the path of joining and the path of no interval, the former is all four paths of joining, and the latter is established in one moment of the suffering Dharma endurance, this is the intention of the scripture. In this way, it is in accordance with the points stated in the Great Commentary and the Essence Moonbeam etc., that in the stage of joining, it is abandoned by dividing into parts, and in the stage of the path of no interval, it is abandoned all at once. That is to say, the four manifest discriminations of the apprehended and the apprehender to be abandoned by the path of seeing are abandoned separately by the four samadhi of the path of joining, therefore, the four paths of joining are established as obtaining clarity etc. on the selflessness of the apprehended, and the four seeds are abandoned all at once by the suffering Dharma endurance, therefore, the suffering Dharma endurance itself enters the four topmost joining of the path of seeing. Therefore, the meaning of "possessing" here is that the four subsequent attainments of the Bodhisattva's path of joining possess the four directly shown accomplishing discriminations as their essence, and the four samadhi possess the four indirectly shown negating discriminations as their essence, therefore the two words "possessing" and "relying" occur, that is, equal.

Therefore, when practicing any subsequent attainment, it is also relying on the object that possesses the nature of that subsequent attainment. So, how to understand that the practice distinctions in subsequent attainment have the nature? In the subsequent attainment of the heat position, all the defilements of the Dharma, or the Hinayana path and its fruit, appear to be grasped as what should be abandoned. In the stage of subsequent attainment of the summit, the pure Dharma, or the Bodhisattva path and its fruit, appear to be grasped as what should be taken. In the stage of subsequent attainment of forbearance, if it is not taken by the view of equanimity, then with compassion for sentient beings, relying on the real person, it appears to be attached to the enjoyer. In the subsequent attainment of the world's first Dharma, then with compassion for the Dharma, relying on the imputed person, it appears to be attached to the enjoyer. The reason for these will be understood when "the warm ones take this as the object." The reason why equanimity has the nature of breaking and establishing distinctions is that in the equanimity of heat, when one realizes that all the defilements are taken as selfless, one has not gone beyond attachment to it, because this is the distinction of mixing sound and meaning. The attachment to it is also relative to the later path, and it is the distinction that should be eliminated. In general, the view of the Middle Way is that after blocking all attachments to existence, non-existence, truth, and non-truth, what is ultimately needed is no attachment. Now, after blocking the view of detachment from elaboration, it is said that what the Middle Way wants to block is only the truth, and there is no need to block the apparent attachment to emptiness, which has already been blocked elsewhere. In short, the sutras say that the practice of emptiness and the practice of non-emptiness are both practices of characteristics. Moreover, here, when blocking the apparent attachment to the sixteen aspects of impermanence, etc., it is also necessary to block the apparent attachment to emptiness and selflessness, otherwise it will be contrary to most sutras and treatises. When it has the nature, it is said that this is the distinction mentioned in the path of joining, but it is not admitted that the distinction mentioned here is the path of joining, because the distinction mentioned here must be established from the perspective of apparent attachment, and the path of joining must be established from the perspective of blocking apparent attachment. If so, then is the ontology contradictory? In the stage of equanimity of heat
