That's how it arises. Bodhisattvas, with their skillful means and the power of accumulating virtuous roots, willingly unite with the three realms. Therefore, they are called afflictions that are in accordance with virtuous roots. As long as they unite with the three realms, their minds will not be defiled by afflictions. Those whose wisdom is like the ocean, who are completely liberated from all bonds, yet still take birth in samsara, do so out of the great compassion of the Bodhisattvas, who are sustained by skillful means and wisdom. Even if they are defiled by all afflictions, they will not be harmed. In order to liberate beings from all the bonds of affliction, they also teach the Dharma to sentient beings. Thus it is said. So, what is the necessity of taking birth in samsara? Thirdly, the function is to benefit others, indicating the necessity of benefiting others. If benefiting others, then on what object? In what way, and through which path, does one do it? The object is the three types of beings. The way is to gather those sentient beings who have not been gathered, to ripen those who have been gathered, to liberate those who have been ripened, and to bring those who have been liberated to ultimate completion. That is, for those who have not entered the path, to place them on the path of accumulation of the three vehicles is the first. To place those on the path of accumulation on the path of joining is the second. To place those on the path of joining on the path of seeing is the third. For the lower two types of beings, and for those on the path of seeing of the higher type, to place them on the path of meditation. To place those on the path of meditation on the path of no more learning is the fourth. Bodhisattvas can only place beings of their own type on the same level of realization as themselves, but they cannot place them on a level higher than their own. That is the activity of the higher Bodhisattvas and the Buddhas. The path is to benefit others by teaching the path of the three vehicles, so it is necessary to explain it with the wisdom of the path that has branches. First, there is the path of learning of the Shravakas. The characteristic of the path of learning itself is: etc. The reality of the path of learning and its cause—the part of ascertainment—are two. The first is the object of knowledge—the path of the Shravakas—and the two ways of knowing it. The first has three views: only acknowledging the path unique to the Shravakas, only acknowledging the types of realization that exist in the Bodhisattva's continuum, and acknowledging both. The first is: all paths

“Should be generated,” etc., and “the cause of obtaining all three in the vehicle,” etc., contradict most treatises, so it is unreasonable. The second view is that although most of the direct teachings of the treatises exist as such, the Dharma eye in the continuum of noble Bodhisattvas knows the realization of all noble beings, and the clairvoyance of knowing others' minds knows the minds of those who are equal to or lower than oneself in terms of continuum, such as whether or not there is desire, as they are. These are also slightly unreasonable because they are established as the wisdom of the path. Therefore, the third view is reasonable. Regarding this, one should understand from the perspective of experiencing it in one's own continuum, and from the perspective of knowing what exists in others' continuums through the way of other-awareness. The first is the path of the Hearers to be generated in the context of “all paths should be generated,” and in the sutra regarding the path of seeing in the third section, “the perfection of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas is surpassed by being observed by the wisdom and vision of Bodhisattvas,” the path to be surpassed, and in the context of the collection of grounds in the Ten Bhumi Sutra, the first seven grounds said to be “beyond the nine grounds,” and in the Body Arrangement, the path in the context of “any path of the solitary rhinoceros disciple,” and here also “the aspects of the four noble truths,” etc., and the paths directly taught in the context of “this Hearer path.” The second is, as previously explained, the Dharma eye in the continuum of noble Bodhisattvas, and the paths that realize that Hearers exist in their own continuum through the clairvoyance of knowing others' minds, and after explaining “all paths should be generated,” “all paths should be known” also enables knowing, because this shows that there is a knowable path that is different from the path to be generated. The main thing is the former, that is, the knowable Solitary Conqueror's path should also be applied in the same way. So, if the aspects of the four noble truths are the knowable Hearer's path, then how many aspects are there? The Perfection of Wisdom Sutra says that there are twenty-six aspects, such as impermanence, and the two noble Sanghas combine this with the sixteen impermanences, etc., said from the Abhidharma. Second, the way to know it is from the perspective of non-expectation, “this Hearer's path should be known,” that is to say,
