Moreover, in general, this is also the yoga of the Mahayana. Specifically, it is certain that there are three yogas of the three knowledges of omniscience. Therefore, what should be used to represent them? Since it is uncertain what is represented on which basis, the treatises on characteristics are explained here. Therefore, it should be applied to the way of representing one's own nature. The early scholars made many explanations based on the way the cause represents the effect and the way the effect represents the cause. If you look at each part of the treatise, it seems that it is possible, but because you do not understand the nature of the way of representing things as they are, there is a risk of obscuring the intention of the treatise. So, in the Abhisamayalankara, since it is based on the sixteen aspects of the knowledge of the path giving rise to the Tathagata, how should it be understood? Its meaning is that in the case of faults, there are many faults in practicing yoga, but because of the protection of the Buddhas of the ten directions, it is not dominated by faults, because the yoga of the Mahayana is the mother of all Tathagatas. For example, when a mother with many sons becomes ill, all the sons serve the mother. If it is said in this way, then it is crucial to determine what the characteristic of the Mahayana yoga that manifests the arising of the Tathagata is. If the producer of the Tathagata is taken as the signified and then its characteristic is shown, then that is not the point here. As it is said in the Compendium of Sutras: When the mother is old and sick, although there are many sons, they are unhappy and serve her. Similarly, the Buddhas of the ten directions also remember the supreme Prajna that is the mother of the Buddhas. It is said in this way. So, if one thinks that the Mahayana yoga that gives rise to it should be taken as the signifier and then its characteristic should be established, then for this, it is necessary to understand what is said in the treatise on reasoning: Or because of realizing it, one turns back, so it is not a limb at the time of what is to be realized. At these times, the wisdom that analyzes the difficult points is, at the time of "moving and so on, the knowable," analyzing the fourteen unstated views, and at the time of the distinguishing characteristic, analyzing whether the yoga of the base knowledge has a distinguishing characteristic.

In the chapter on "Qualities," there are three aspects to examining the deeds of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. The first aspect is further divided into two points: first, identifying the sixty-two wrong views, and second, summarizing these views into fourteen. The first point is: all the views of externalist Tirthikas are included in sixty-two, namely, eighteen views that speculate on the "prior extreme" and forty-four views that speculate on the "posterior extreme." Regarding the first point, the summary is: permanent, partially permanent, without cause, with end, likewise, abandoning gods and humans. Thus, there are four views of those who assert permanence, four views of those who assert partial permanence, two views of those who assert causelessness, four views of those who assert having or not having an end, and four views of those who assert abandoning gods and humans. Among these, the first four views are: some externalist meditators, through the superknowledge of recollecting previous existences, can remember twenty, forty, and eighty intermediate kalpas, and through the superknowledge of the divine eye, they see beings with good and bad colors, and see beings who have died being born there and there, so they think that the self and the world are permanent as they see them. The four views of those who assert partial permanence are: some attendants of the Great Brahma die and are reborn as humans, cultivate meditation and generate superknowledge, and see that the Great Brahma has not died, so they say that the Great Brahma is permanent, while the other gods are impermanent; or they see that the great elements of the Great Brahma are impermanent, and that consciousness does not cease, so they say that the elements are impermanent, while consciousness is permanent; or someone who is greatly deceived by the Playful Gods of the desire realm loses memory and awareness due to infatuation, and after dying is reborn as a human, and through generating superknowledge sees that his former companions have not died, so they say that those deceived by the Playful Gods are impermanent, while others are permanent; or some who are displeased with their divine friends die due to the power of this displeasure, and after being reborn as humans, they observe as before by generating superknowledge, and see that others have not died, so they say that those displeased with the gods are impermanent, while others are permanent. Regarding the two views of those who assert causelessness, they rely on meditation to assert causelessness: some beings who die and transmigrate from the formless realm are born into the form or desire realm, and some sages with superknowledge think that they do not have
