Is it just because of that? It is indeed. Then, the former is not universally applicable either. Because that treatise merely shows that the form of the second path in the continuum of a Bodhisattva, which is the type of realization of selflessness of persons by a Hinayana practitioner, is the subsequent attainment of the path of meditation of one's own school. Dartika said: The first path mentioned here is the Samadhi wisdom of the Mahayana path of seeing, the middle one is the contaminated path of meditation of the Mahayana, and the last one is said to be the uncontaminated path of meditation. Some say: The first path is the Samadhi wisdom of the continuum of the Hearer's path of learning, the middle one is the subsequent attainment wisdom of the path of meditation of one's own school, and the last one is the Samadhi wisdom of the path of meditation. Some say: The latter path is the Samadhi wisdom of the path of seeing of one's own school. As it is said in the Twenty Thousand Lights: "The contaminated path of meditation and the uncontaminated path of seeing are two, so there are three paths." For the first case, either of the latter two paths mentioned here is the path of learning of one's own school, and there is no common basis, because if it is any of those two, it must be the path of meditation of the Mahayana. If you accept, then, in the case of the form of the basic wisdom, as a remedy for the cognitive obscurations and grasping thoughts, it is appropriate to explain the contaminated and uncontaminated paths, and as a reason for establishing that, it is said that all-knowing self-Buddhas are also included, which becomes irrelevant. Because of that acceptance. The opponent says: There is no fault, because the type of realization of one's own path that is the remedy for the cognitive obscurations and grasping thoughts can be established as the latter two paths mentioned here. If so, the continuum of the Bodhisattva on the path of accumulation has the latter two paths mentioned here, because their continuum has the type of realization of these two paths. If you accept, it contradicts the commitment. For the second tenet, in the continuum of the learner of one's own lineage, there is no uncontaminated path that is the remedy for the afflictive obscurations, because if the first path mentioned here is that, it must be the wisdom of the Hearer. Furthermore, the path of seeing of one's own school and the uncontaminated path that is the remedy for the cognitive obscurations and grasping thoughts do not have a common basis, because if the third path mentioned here is that, it must be the Samadhi of the path of meditation of one's own school. For the third case, the Samadhi of the path of meditation of one's own school and all

Since there is no common basis for realizing that the object of affliction is without inherent existence. If the latter path mentioned here is the case, then it must be the self-arisen path of seeing, the wisdom of equipoise. Secondly, the twenty-seven aspects of the base consciousness, which are the main subject of exposition here, are the wisdom of the Bodhisattva, because they are the complete stage. However, since it is not the Bodhisattva's own type of realization, when identifying the object of which type of realization it is, the twelve aspects of the first three truths, and the four aspects of the path truth, namely the four aspects of the first path, these sixteen are the types of realization of the Hearers, and the eleven aspects of the second and third are the types of realization of the self-arisen. Therefore, the twenty-seven aspects of the base consciousness of the Lesser Vehicle lineage, and the twenty-seven aspects of the Bodhisattva lineage, are both similar in what is taught here, but the former is not the main subject of exposition, while the latter is. The second part consists of two aspects: refutation and establishment. First, regarding the contaminated and uncontaminated mentioned here, some consider it to be with or without the conceptual thought of mixed grasping of sound and meaning, while others consider it to be with or without the contamination of afflictive obscurations. The first view is that the subsequent wisdom of the self-arisen path of meditation, which realizes that the meaning of the grasped external object is unreal, is with the conceptual thought of mixed grasping of sound and meaning, because the path mentioned here is contaminated. This is unacceptable, because it is yogic direct perception, because it is the wisdom of realizing selflessness in the lineage of the noble ones. The second view is whether the meaning of with or without afflictive obscurations refers to having abandoned or not abandoned them, or whether afflictive obscurations exist or do not exist in their own nature? According to the first view, the uninterrupted path of seeing of the Hearers is not the uncontaminated path mentioned here, because afflictive obscurations have not been abandoned. According to the latter view, the former path of meditation of the self-arisen path has afflictive obscurations in its own nature, because the path mentioned here is contaminated. This is unacceptable, because it is yogic direct perception. Secondly, the equipoise of the lineage of the noble ones should be regarded as uncontaminated, and its subsequent attainment should be regarded as contaminated, because the teacher in the second chapter and here and below in the summary of the meaning of the aspects of the base consciousness, all three consider the contaminated
