It is indicated in the Sutra by "villages" etc., and in the Root text by "powers etc. all," and in the Don Sel by "powers and supports, cities, etc.," and in the Great Commentary by "in such a situation, by one's own nature," etc. Therefore, in the Sutra, the meaning of warfare, first mentioning combat, is because it first shows how to prevent attachment, and then afterwards, it is because the one who wages war is identified. In the treatises, it is said in the opposite way, which is to first identify the one who wages war, and then afterwards, it is the meaning of rejecting attachment to his name. The order of the Great and Small Commentaries is such because they are explaining the Sutra and the treatise themselves in order. The necessity of mentioning the name is that the attachment to the war of abandonment and antidote has already been eliminated at the time of knowing all suffering. Here it says to prevent attachment to those mere names, that is, the Great Commentary says, "By speaking of words, the discrimination of the form of things has already been eliminated at the time of knowing suffering and origin. Knowing the cessation is to show that it is on the side of the antidote to the discrimination of mere words." Some people who do not understand this point quote the war of abandonment and antidote, and the powers and so on indicated by the word village, saying that the first mention of war is like sunlight and the Great Commentary and the Eight Thousand Verses, which is just showing the application of a small amount of mustard seed to the tip of a needle of wisdom. Others of omniscience have said before, "In the Sutra, the word 'and' is obtained by separating the words 'warfare' etc., but the appearance of the sixth case of the word 'of' is incorrect." However, the sixth case appears in both the Root and the Commentary, and it is the main topic to be expressed, as mentioned earlier, so it is not incorrect. However, in the two commentaries of the teacher, only the prevention of attachment to the name of warfare is shown, and in the Sutra and the Root, the prevention of attachment to the name of abandonment and antidote is also shown. In the Sutra, it is also said not to be attached to villages and cities, etc., and in the Root, the power of the word 'all' is shown. This is a good saying that has not appeared before in the snowy mountains. The path of meditation is profound.

In the stage of realization. Some argue that the Mahayana path of meditation, in terms of its nature, is deeper than the Hinayana path of meditation, because the Mahayana's subsequent realization is of the essence of profound emptiness. If so, then the Mahayana path of meditation, in terms of its essence of profound emptiness, should not be deeper than the Hinayana path of meditation. Because the Hinayana path also possesses it in the same way, since it is truly empty in the ultimate sense. To this, someone objects that the Mahayana practice, in terms of its inherent nature and characteristics, should not be considered as belonging to the Mahayana lineage. Because Hinayana also possesses inherent nature and characteristics. The response is that they are not the same, because the inherent nature has the distinction of whether or not it possesses the special qualities of practicing Mahayana, while the path of meditation does not have the distinction of whether or not it possesses the essence of profound emptiness. Furthermore, some argue that the debate "regarding the inexpressible object" should not contradict the meaning of the text "the path of meditation is profound." Because that text does not show that the Mahayana path of meditation, in terms of its essence of profound emptiness, is deeper than the Hinayana path of meditation. If so, then the debate "because the realm of Dharma is without difference" should not contradict the meaning of the text "becoming the basis of practice." Because that text does not show the realm of Dharma as lineage. The pervasion is accepted. If it is not established, then the realm of Dharma should be lineage, because it is not established. The self-view is that the following debate is about the literal meaning of this sentence, and the main point to be taught is the excellence that arises from realizing profound emptiness, because in this text, the intention is to explain that the Mahayana's path of joining, seeing, and meditating are superior to those three of the Hinayana, and the first two have already been explained, and this is the explanation of the last one. In the stage of "discriminating limbs and seeing." Some say that in the stages of the path of joining, seeing, and meditating, the Mahayana's subsequent realization of the meaning that has already been seen, through thought, measure, and realization, is said to be the characteristic of the Mahayana path of meditation that is taught from the time of explaining the complete path of joining. Then, the path of meditation taught here, from the second to the tenth ground, is counted as nine.
