The meaning is that, now abiding in the perfect thought and conduct of the Mahayana, one will attain Buddhahood without being interrupted even for a moment by the thought and conduct of the Hinayana. Conversely, there are two aspects of turning back: through thought and through conduct. The former refers to being currently abiding in the perfect thought of the Mahayana, but being interrupted by the thought of the Hinayana; or currently abiding in the perfect conduct of the Mahayana, but possibly entering the path of the Hinayana. Here, it is to establish non-retrogression through thought, not through conduct. If one is a Mahayana practitioner on the path of application, is it necessarily the case that one does not regress through conduct? Is it said here that regression goes to the seventh ground and below? The latter reason is not valid. If one is a Bodhisattva who has attained the Mahayana path of application, then one must be the non-regressor mentioned here. If it is not established, the reason is that if that is the case, then one is currently abiding in the perfect thought and conduct of the Mahayana, and will not be interrupted even for a moment by the thought and conduct of the Hinayana, thus attaining Buddhahood. This pervasiveness lies in the recognition of the meaning of non-retrogression. If it is not established, the reason is that if that is the case, then one will certainly not regress through conduct. To this, some say: It is not pervasive, because after obtaining it, it is possible to be interrupted by the thought of considering only one's own benefit. If one is a Mahayana practitioner on the path of application, then it is not the case that one does not regress through both thought and conduct, because there are Bodhisattvas on the path of application who regress by the power of thought. The reason for the pervasiveness is acknowledged, but one cannot think so, because there are no Bodhisattvas on the path of application who regress through both thought and conduct. Secondly, whether or not the reason is to be established, the "non-regression" in the phrase "group of non-regressors" here refers to not entering into inferior Bodhi through both thought and conduct, mainly referring to non-regression through conduct. Thirdly, analyzing the meaning of the reason. Some argue that in general there are two types: meditative equipoise and subsequent attainment. The former cannot become a sign of non-regression, because if that were the case, in the continuum of yogis, each

Because there will be refutations specifically directed at how moments of wisdom become characteristics that make others believe. Subsequent cognitions also cannot become proofs in the eyes of others, because they have the same reason as meditative realization, because it is said, "Realization at all times, and complete agreement." Therefore, only the actions of body and speech in the subsequent state can become proofs, because they are not confused with meditative realization, and they are not confused with non-regression from complete enlightenment. So, does the collection of eleven signs of heat, six signs of the peak, and so on, become a proof? If you say that each one becomes a proof, then the former is, but the latter is not, because even a Hearer Arhat has exhausted doubts, exhausted non-leisure, always practices celibacy, and has a completely pure life, and so on. Then, it follows that there is no inference of meditative realization from the signs of actions of body and speech in the subsequent state, and no inference of non-regression from complete enlightenment from the signs of meditative realization, because meditative realization cannot become a proof in the eyes of others. It is not possible to accept this, because a Bodhisattva on the path of seeing can, through the signs of actions of body and speech in the subsequent state, have someone with lower realization than themselves infer the meditative realization of the Great Vehicle's path of seeing. Because in the mind-stream of someone with lower realization than themselves, there is a valid cognition that realizes the meditative realization of the Great Vehicle's path of seeing, because from that sign, it must be possible to realize that the Great Vehicle path of seeing in that person's mind-stream does not regress from complete enlightenment. Furthermore, a Great Vehicle path of seeing who possesses the special characteristics of actions of body and speech in the subsequent state, such as the reversal of the perception of form, etc., is definitely non-regressing from complete enlightenment. It follows that there could be someone who dwells in meditative equipoise, a Great Vehicle path of seeing, who has doubts about whether they will regress or not. If the proof that a Great Vehicle path of seeing of middling faculty does not regress from complete enlightenment must be actions of body and speech in the subsequent state. The sign is accepted. The collection of the eleven signs of heat is not a sign that proves that a Bodhisattva of sharp faculty who dwells in heat does not regress from complete enlightenment.
