In analyzing the extremes, there are three aspects: refutation, establishment, and abandonment. First, the first aspect includes three refutations: refuting that the meaning of this treatise is the fundamental intention; refuting that this treatise is the scholar's own doctrine; and refuting that the meaning of the treatise is explained perversely. First, some scholars say that this treatise indirectly explains the three paths of the first three applications, that is, it names the small, medium, and large wisdoms of the eighth, ninth, and tenth bhumis with the names of their respective three paths, and it explains that the three paths of the first three stages are characterized by the three paths. They say that this is the fundamental intention of the treatise. Other scholars say that this is only the intention of the scholar's commentary, not the fundamental intention. While 'Bre Chenpo says that it is the intention of both the scholar's commentary and the root text. Well then, listen carefully. If it is said that the reason why a sharp-witted practitioner on the Mahayana path of application temporarily does not regress from the unexcelled perfect enlightenment is not explained in this Ornament, because the path of application in the phrase "form, etc., have signs of regression, etc. (གཟུགས་ལ་སོགས་ལ་ལྡོག་སོགས་རྟགས།)" is not the Mahayana path of application. If the opponent does not concede, then it is proven that it is the small wisdom of the eighth bhumi. Similarly, the reason why the path of seeing and the path of meditation do not regress can also be inferred. Furthermore, if it is said that the part of liberation in accordance with the direct teaching from the phrase "non-conceptual, supremely giving, etc. (མཚན་མེད་རབ་ཏུ་སྦྱིན་ལ་སོགས།)" is not the direct cause of the part of ascertainment in accordance with the direct teaching from the phrase "in the objects of all the heats (དྲོ་བ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་དམིགས་པ་འདིར།)", because such a part of ascertainment is the wisdom of the bhumis. The opponent concedes this reason. If the opponent concedes, that is not possible, because one who has joy arising in accordance with the part of liberation will necessarily produce something in accordance with the part of ascertainment. Furthermore, if it is said that the four conceptual thoughts of the apprehended and the apprehender to be abandoned on the path of seeing, which are explained in the fifth chapter, are not to be abandoned on the path of seeing, because the peak application of the path of seeing explained there is not the path of seeing. The opponent concedes this reason. If the opponent concedes, then the four conceptual thoughts of the apprehended and the apprehender, which are abandoned by the collection of antidotes to be abandoned on the path of seeing, are not to be abandoned on the path of seeing, because the opponent concedes this view. If the opponent concedes, then the collection of antidotes to be abandoned on the path of seeing is not the path of seeing, because the opponent concedes this view. If the opponent concedes, then the three of the first stage

The path of seeing mentioned by "Uma" contradicts the nature of the path of seeing. Also, what real harm is there to the three paths mentioned from the first three preparatory practices being of their own nature? If asked this way, then there is the fault of repetition in mentioning the three paths of the first three preparatory practices, because it is of its own nature. Furthermore, in the context of the Mahayana preparatory practice, there is the case of entering in order to realize the fruit of stream-entry for oneself, and there is the case of entering without the faults of a Bodhisattva, and there is the case of abiding in generating the wisdom of omniscience. Because the preparatory practice mentioned from the context of "Here are the objects of the warms" is of its own nature. Also, in the stage of the Mahayana preparatory practice, there is the case of destroying the latent predispositions of obscurations, and there is the case of perfecting the three wisdoms. "Destroying all latent predispositions" and "Perfecting the three dharmas of omniscience," because the preparatory practice in these contexts is of its own nature. It is said that the signs are admitted. In the first inference, in the context of the three wisdoms, there is the fault of repetition in mentioning the three paths, because those mentioned there are of their own nature. If it is said that the pervasion is not the same, because the paths mentioned there have different distinctions from the perspective of object, aspect, path, and ground realization. Then, the former does not have pervasion. In the context of the complete preparatory practice, the three paths are mentioned from the perspective of the sign of non-retrogression. In the peak preparatory practice, the term preparatory practice is not mentioned at the root. The path of seeing and the path of meditation are mentioned from the perspective of the antidote to what is abandoned by seeing and what is abandoned by meditation. In the gradual context, because the names of the three paths are not explicitly mentioned. Furthermore, is the path of meditation mentioned from the context of the first three preparatory practices the nature of the path of meditation or not? If it is the first, then it has the fault of repetition. Therefore. If it is the second, then, this dharma, is not the wisdom of the pure ground. Because it is not the path of meditation. If it is said that the path of meditation below the seventh ground is not real, saying that is stating a real harm is not reasonable, because a real harm, even if it is not so in meaning, must be said to be truly proclaimed by that name.
