Because it makes it a dharma of non-arising again by harming it. Some say that at the time of the path of seeing and the path of no remainder, there is no seeing abandonment of its share, because these two do not arise simultaneously in the continuum of one person. Similarly, at the time of the peak application of the path of no remainder, there is no defilement of bad rebirths of its share, they say. Then, the abandonment of the share of the Mahayana path of seeing and the path of no remainder should exist in the continuum of the Mahayana path of application. What is such an existence? Because it does not exist in the continuum of the path of seeing. If admitted, then, that dharma of that continuum, your immediately following moment should immediately arise the cessation of separate imputation that you have abandoned. Because you are the abandonment of the share of the path of no remainder. The sign is admitted. If admitted, then, at the time of the path of seeing and the path of no remainder, there should be the cessation of separate imputation that it has abandoned. Also, the dharma nature of the mind of the bodhisattva of constant extremes should not be the thusness with defilements. Because his mind is not a consciousness with defilements, because his continuum has no defilements. The sign is admitted. If admitted to the root, then it should be the thusness without defilements. Second, it is not abandoned by directly harming the manifested abandonment, because the opponent and the manifested abandonment do not directly meet, because it is past and ceased, future and not born, and the present does not coexist with the opponent. But it is abandoned by directly harming its seed, because its seed and the opponent both exist simultaneously in one continuum, because the seed does not grasp the object and the aspect. Third, some say, is there an opponent that abandons the manifested conceptualization of the Mahayana seeing abandonment by directly harming it? If there is, because it does not go beyond the meditative wisdom of the Mahayana path of application, it should not be established that it abandons it by directly harming it, because at that time it is past and ceased, etc. Three turns. According to the latter, then, that dharma, you should not be abandoned. Because you do not have an opponent that abandons you by directly harming you, they say. If the former is admitted,

It is not accepted, and even if the latter is acknowledged, that fault will not occur. The manifest conceptualizations to be abandoned on the path of seeing in the Great Vehicle, should not be abandoned, because there is no antidote that directly encounters you. The pervasion is acknowledged. If it is not established, then because the Ratnakuta Sutra says, "Wisdom and afflictions, whichever conceptualizations, those even a few times, do not encounter each other." Secondly, there are three ways of abandoning: the way of abandoning of the Hearers, the way of abandoning of the Solitary Buddhas, and the way of abandoning of the Bodhisattvas. The first has two ways: the way of abandoning all at once and the way of abandoning gradually. The first is that the one hundred and one afflictions from the desire realm to the peak of existence are condensed into nine categories and abandoned. The second is that those are made into eighty-one groups and abandoned separately. The second, the three types of Solitary Buddha lineage who enter the path of Solitary Buddhahood from the beginning, abandon according to the way of gradual abandonment, while the Hearers who abandon all at once transform into Solitary Buddhas, then abandon the remaining afflictions according to the way of abandoning all at once. The third has two ways: the way of abandoning afflictive obscurations and the way of abandoning cognitive obscurations. The first, in the Tika, it says: Some think that it is unreasonable to think that the way of abandoning afflictive obscurations of Bodhisattvas is like abandoning all at once, because in the Essence of Moonlight, when establishing as a non-returner, all the objects of abandonment on the path of cultivation of the nine grounds have already been abandoned, so it would be a refutation such as becoming an Arhat. And in the Samdhinirmocana Sutra and the Yogacarabhumi Sastra, it is said that in the third ground itself, it is said that one is free from desire for the desire realm. And in the Sunlight, after making the establishment of being free from desire beforehand, it is said that there are Bodhisattvas on the path of seeing who have not separated from desire for the desire realm, and who have separated from desire below the realm of nothingness. The meaning there is also that what is said in the Samdhinirmocana Sutra and the Yogacarabhumi Sastra refers to the case of the Mind-Only School, referring to the fact that afflictive obscurations have not been abandoned below the seventh ground. And the former method of the Essence of Moonlight and the Sunlight refers to the latent tendencies, but if it is done for the manifest, then from the first ground, one obtains the nine successive absorptions of ultimate abiding, so it is impossible not to have abandoned the manifest desire realm afflictions. The latter quote from the Sunlight refers to having separated from desire below the realm of nothingness before the path of seeing, so it refers to obtaining the path of seeing, being free from desire.
