And explained the four paths of the Hearer Vehicle. All four of these paths are Hearer Vehicle paths that Bodhisattvas should understand. Because the latter three paths are to be understood by way of experiencing them in one's own continuum. And the first path has two Hearer Vehicle paths: one to be understood by way of experiencing it in one's own continuum, and one to be understood by way of knowing what is in another's continuum, that is, by way of other-knowing. Therefore, the latter three paths cannot be Hearer Vehicle paths, because they are only to be understood by Bodhisattvas by way of experiencing them in their own continuum. The former of the two in the first path is the same in meaning as the latter three paths, such as the path to be generated mentioned here, and the twenty-seven aspects of the base wisdom that are the object of meditation in the Completion Stage Yoga, and the Hearer and Solitary Realizer Vehicles mentioned as "the cause for attaining all three vehicles." The latter of the two divided in the first path is as stated in the Treasury: "Two moments of seeing of Hearers, three kinds like rhinoceros horns, Buddhas without union all." As it is said, it is explained that the path in another's continuum can be directly realized by the clairvoyance of knowing others' minds. And also, in the Sutra it is said, "For a mind with desire, one knows exactly as it is that it is a mind with desire," and so on. Relying on these, it is also established that the path of the Hearer's own continuum is also a path to be known by Bodhisattvas. The third is: Some say that the realization of the selflessness of persons in the continuum of a noble Bodhisattva is a knowable Bodhisattva path, because it is a Bodhisattva path. If you assert that, then it should not be, because it is a knowable Hearer path. If you say that, then, that (realization) should not be a Hearer path to be learned for the sake of leading disciples of the Bodhisattva lineage, because it is a path to be learned for the sake of leading disciples of the Hearer lineage. The pervasion is accepted. If you assert that, then, that should be that (the path to be learned for the sake of leading disciples of the Hearer lineage), because this is the path that the Buddha, the Noble One, teaches to disciples of the Bodhisattva lineage, because he must teach them all three kinds of realization. Again, some say that disciples of the Hearer lineage are led by the Great Vehicle path from the very beginning.

It is possible to establish. If it is said that, in order to teach the kind of realization of the selflessness of the individual in the continuum of the noble Bodhisattva to those who are to be tamed and are of the Hearer lineage, what kind of path is that? Because that is the Mahayana path. Then, from the very beginning, it should be able to be taken up by the path that is grasped by the Mahayana mind of enlightenment. Because, that is the path that is grasped by the Mahayana mind of enlightenment. Because of realizing self-originated nature. In the case of "because of realizing self-originated nature," among the two aspects of the classification of one's own school's path and the analysis of the meaning of words. The first aspect has the difference in the way of traversing the path, the difference in the way of accomplishing the fruit, the difference in the time of accumulating merit, examining which of the three realms is the basis, examining the difference between abandonment and realization, examining whether the four fruits can be established or not, examining whether there is learning or not, and explaining the meaning of words, these eight aspects. The first aspect is that from one's own ground, three ways of traversing the path are taught. Among them, taking the accumulation of merit for hundreds of kalpas as a prerequisite for being able to attain in one lifetime or less, and not being able to generate even warmth in this life, therefore, in order to generate the realizations from warmth to the path of no more learning in the next life, one becomes proficient in the six things to be proficient in, and makes three aspirations at the time of death, this is the first way of traversing the path. Again, taking the accumulation of merit for hundreds of kalpas as a prerequisite for being able to attain in one lifetime or less, and generating less than the middle warmth in this life, and not being able to generate great patience, therefore, in order to generate the realizations from great patience to the path of no more learning in the next life, one acts as before, this is the second way of traversing. Again, taking the accumulation of merit for hundreds of kalpas as a prerequisite for being able to attain in one lifetime or less, and manifesting any one of the first two fruits of the fruits of the ascetic practice in this life, and not being able to generate the upper two fruits, therefore, in order to generate the upper two fruits in the next life, one acts as before, this is the third way of traversing the path. Such three ways of traversing the path are also treated as the ways of traversing the path of those of one's own school's lineage from the very beginning. Because all three are the same in accumulating merit for hundreds of kalpas. In the Compendium, it is said that on top of those three, the stream-enterer fruit that is simultaneously present, and the arhat fruit that is not attained in this life.
