You also (to the wise) showed that aggregate body, like illusion, mirage, city of gandharvas, dream world. Thus it is said. These are called nominal emptiness because they are established as empty after being examined by the wisdom of hearing and thinking that follows reason. The second is that emptiness which is realized by the noble ones individually by their own self-awareness wisdom in an inexpressible state, which is the emptiness that is nominally called the ultimate truth, which is existence and non-existence. Any extreme of elaboration such as permanence and annihilation, emptiness and non-emptiness, etc., cannot be shown by way of words, and is a state beyond the realm of all terms. Such a dharma-nature emptiness is also the nature of interdependent arising that appears like illusion, and there is nothing at all established separately from this. Apart from these three, the basis of emptiness established in the ultimate sense, that is, the emptiness that is formed by refuting the object to be refuted, the conventional, is not at all accepted. As it says in the Root Wisdom: If there is a little non-emptiness, then there will be a little emptiness; if there is no little non-emptiness, how can there be emptiness? Thus, because the basis of emptiness is not established, it is said that emptiness is also not established. Also in the same treatise it says: The Victorious Ones have said that emptiness. And so on, because those who hold emptiness to be truly existent are said to have incurable views. If it is said that the collections of reasoning only teach self-emptiness, and the collections of praise teach other-emptiness, the ultimate truth, then there is not a single word in the collections of praise that shows establishment in the ultimate sense, but in accordance with the collections of reasoning, all extremes of elaboration are prevented. Therefore, this school of those who speak of other-emptiness is outside the school of the noble Nagarjuna. The latter three of the Five Treatises of Maitreya, and the emptiness that appears in the treatises of the brothers Asanga, are of three kinds: emptiness of one's own characteristics, and likewise emptiness of non-existence, and emptiness by nature. The first is the completely imputed, the second is the other-powered, and the third is the thoroughly established. Among them, the other-powered is established by its own characteristics, and the completely imputed

The emptiness that empties emptiness, the perfected nature exists in the ultimate truth, therefore it is free from permanence and annihilation, and therefore it is considered the Middle Way. As the Madhyāntavibhāga states: "The unreal conceptualization exists, in it the two are not present, emptiness is present in it, and in it also emptiness dwells. It is neither empty nor non-empty, thus everything is explained. Because it exists, it is said to be non-existent, because it exists, this is called the Middle Way." Thus it is said. Thus, the perfected nature, which is empty of other-powered and imputed natures, is established as truly other-empty. This kind of statement is inconsistent with the treatises of Noble Maitreya and the brothers Asanga, because according to them, the other-powered nature, like the imputed nature, must also not be established by its own characteristics. However, in these treatises, the other-powered nature is said to be truly established as a substance, like the basis of a magical illusion. Therefore, this is outside the intention of the Mahāyāna sutras and their commentaries, the Vijñānavāda and Madhyamaka schools. This is well established. These are just some of the gross faults that I have mentioned about this evil doctrine. If examined in detail, there are many scriptural and logical harms, such as not conforming to the sutras, not appearing in the Vinaya, and contradicting the nature of Abhidharma, but here I will not elaborate further because it would hinder the explanation of the main text. Thus, the refutation was made. However, if we examine the previous and subsequent views of this, it seems like this: the view of the former is not the view of any of the Mahāyāna or Hīnayāna schools, so it is outside of this Dharma. This statement is the fault of excessive slander, because the later teachings of Maitreya and the later Dharma of Asanga have been determined as definitive, and it has been determined that all other dharmas except for the truth of the perfected ultimate truth are without truth, so it is particularly superior to other realists, and it is a school in which the view of Madhyamaka arises without difficulty. The statement that it is not a tenet of the Mind-Only school because it does not accept the true establishment of the other-powered nature is also uncertain, because in most Mind-Only treatises such as the Madhyāntavibhāga and the Abhidharmasamuccaya, it is said that the other-powered nature is established by its own characteristics, but it is also admitted as such.
