Refutation of the System of. Thus, among the three systems, the first is refuted by the wise Red mda' ba in this way: This is not the intention of any of the sutras of the Greater and Lesser Vehicles, nor does it agree with any of the four philosophical schools, nor is it the view of any of the great chariots of India and Tibet. Therefore, this is completely outside the Dharma, so all those who cherish the Buddha's teachings should refute it. Here, I will also speak briefly. Among them, the Vaibhashikas and Sutrantikas consider emptiness to be only the emptiness of the self of the person. As it is said, that which is not in something is empty of it, like this, on the selflessness distinguished by permanence, etc., they consider that the aggregates, etc., which are only phenomena, are established as empty. Moreover, this is the nature of impermanence, suffering, etc., and they do not consider emptiness distinguished by permanence, etc., at all. Therefore, the first system is not the intention of the Hinayana sutras, and this is also established. In explaining the intention of the Mahayana sutras, the ones who became reliable persons are the noble Nagarjuna and the noble Asanga. The emptiness that arises from Nagarjuna's treatises is of two types: emptiness analyzed by reason and emptiness to be realized by yogis individually. The first is the emptiness of the self of the person and the emptiness of the self of phenomena. Among them, the first is, for the time being, to the aggregates, elements, and sources, the person, self, and purusha, etc., who are imputed by worldly people and outsiders, and to the nature of those who enjoy objects, are negated, and it is established that the aggregates, etc., are merely phenomena, as it is said in the Praise of the Transcendent: You consider that there are only aggregates, without sentient beings. Like that. The second is, to the internal and external sources and elements, all the permanent, impermanent, existent, nonexistent, arising, and non-arising, etc., imputed by self and other schools, are negated, and it is shown that dependent arising is merely like an illusion. In that, the Intelligent
