The Mind-Only school holds that while Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas can attain enlightenment, to attain the enlightenment of the Mahāyāna, one must realize the suchness of the emptiness of both the apprehended and the apprehender. Therefore, there is a difference in view between the Greater and Lesser Vehicles, but they do not consider there to be a difference in view between Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas. According to the Madhyamaka school, Maitreya and Nāgārjuna both agree that to attain enlightenment in all three vehicles, one must realize the emptiness of the aggregates. To attain the enlightenment of the Mahāyāna, one must realize freedom from conceptual elaborations, which is separate from the four extremes. Therefore, there is a very large difference in view between the Greater and Lesser Vehicles. Śrāvakas do not realize that external objects of apprehension are merely imputed, while Pratyekabuddhas realize this. Therefore, there is also a difference in view between these two. If one thinks that the uninterrupted path of the Śrāvakas can abandon the belief in the reality of the aggregates, then there is no problem, because they do not primarily focus on the emptiness of the aggregates, but primarily focus on the emptiness of the person. Similarly, the uninterrupted path of the path of seeing of the Pratyekabuddhas also primarily focuses on the non-existence of external objects of apprehension, so it can abandon the belief in the reality of external objects of apprehension, but it cannot abandon other cognitive obscurations. The uninterrupted path of the Mahāyāna path of seeing primarily focuses on the freedom from conceptual elaborations of all four extremes, so the key to being able to abandon all cognitive obscurations lies in this. The realization of emptiness by Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas is mentioned many times in the treatises of Nāgārjuna and his son. Although there are many explanations of the differences in view between the Greater and Lesser Vehicles in the beginning and end of the Ornament for Clear Realization, there is no mention of the difference between realizing and not realizing emptiness, so these two seem to have the same view. If one thinks that the difference between having and not having attachment to phenomena is explained, so there is a difference between realizing and not realizing emptiness, then this is not certain. Because attachment to imputed phenomena means not understanding the freedom from conceptual elaborations of the nature of phenomena, so it does not mean not realizing emptiness. The Incomparable Dharma Lord said that as evidence that Śrāvakas and Pratyekabuddhas do not realize the emptiness of the aggregates,
