Obscured by earth. For example, being harmed by an example that is renowned within one's own school. The first is, whatever, etc. The second is, Mo Xia, etc. In the praise of the Bhagavan who completely dispels all obscurations, it is said: When turning the wheel of Dharma, the Dharma that is originally peaceful and unborn, whose nature is Nirvana, is taught by you, the protector. Thus it is said. The third is, vase, etc. Second, explaining dependent origination as the meaning of arising from dependence is, why, etc. If there is no arising in the four extremes, then how do sprouts arise from seeds, and actions from ignorance, etc.? It is only that this result arises from dependence on this cause. The sutra says: For example, when this exists, this arises; when this is born, this is born. That is, with ignorance as the condition, there are actions, etc., and when this exists, this arises, etc., and the meaning taught by the agent relying on the action, etc., is only the arising of this condition. Third, there are four benefits of realizing dependent origination by abandoning the two extremes: dependent origination reasoning cuts the net of wrong views, realizing dependent origination stops all thoughts, shows the result of examining the cessation of thoughts, therefore advises to abandon attachment and aversion and examine. The first is, why, etc. The second is, realization, etc. The third is, each, etc. The commentary says: Therefore, the cessation of all thoughts is established as the result of analytical observation as taught by the teacher in the Madhyamaka treatise. The fourth is, one's own, etc. Second, explaining dependent origination from the perspective of the selflessness of persons has two parts: showing the necessity of preventing the object of attachment to the view of self, and explaining the reasoning for preventing what is necessary. The first is, afflictions, etc. Here, the view of the perishable collection is the innate self-grasping that takes the aggregates as its object and relies on the groundless to grasp as "I." Here, this is explained as wisdom affliction. To prevent this, it is only by examining with reason and preventing the object of attachment, which is only "I," and not by preventing conventional truth. Then, below, only the reasoning for preventing the imputed self is taught, is it?

Then, how to prevent innate ego-grasping? For those fortunate trainees who have not been transformed by sectarian views, the way to prevent innate ego-grasping is: by searching with reason for the object of attachment of innate ego-grasping—merely "I"—whether it is one with or different from the aggregates, etc., but it cannot be found. As stated in the "Garland of Jewels" and "Entering the Bodhisattva's Way of Life." For those who have been transformed by sectarian views, if they see that the reasoning that posits the aggregates as one with or different from the imputed self, etc., as proof that the object of attachment of innate ego-grasping—merely "I"—is substantially existent, is harmful to the proof, then they can reverse the mind that grasps the object to be proven. Rongton Chöjé believes that this is the common view of reasoners, and it seems essential here. Otherwise, if the four extremes of arising are prevented, it would follow that the arising that has become the object of innate grasping of reality cannot be prevented. These words also hit the nail on the head. Second, there are three: analyzing and refuting the substantially existent person with reason; establishing the dependently imputed person; extending that reasoning to all things. First, there are two: refuting the person established in five ways; refuting the inexpressible person. First, there are two: extensively explaining the reasoning of refutation; briefly explaining the definitive and provisional meanings of the view of the perishable collection. First, there are four: refuting that the self and the aggregates are different; refuting that the self and the aggregates are the same; refuting that they are the basis and the based; refuting that the self possesses the aggregates. First, there are two: stating the view; explaining the refutation. The first is: the eater, etc. The non-Buddhist Samkhyas believe that the object of innate ego-grasping—the self—is the enjoyer of the ripening of karma, a marked thing, not the agent, without qualities such as pleasure and pain, without actions such as stretching and contracting, in short, possessing five characteristics. The old commentary here says: "What is the object of the view of the perishable collection—the self? If it is said that it is not known, then for the time being..." Therefore, before the imputed ego-grasping has arisen, for that person, it is only the self that is the object of innate ego-grasping. After it has arisen, for the imputers themselves, the self that is the object of innate ego-grasping
