Because it is said to be the cause of the extinction of offspring, it should be considered that this is undoubtedly the wish of the noble ones. The first moment perishing in the second time is because it is necessary to realize by actually cutting off the object to be refuted, so it is a negation, but not a non-affirming negation, but a non-negation, because it is not only cutting off the cause of destruction, but also abandoning the object that has been cut off. The remaining proofs can be learned in detail from the commentary on the Root Wisdom. This seems to be one of the subtle and meaningful reasonings of this tradition. These things have been written. The second point is that the Madhyamikas must analyze and negate all things established by co-emergence and imputation through reason, but adding such a new grasping of reality has great faults, so it must be negated. Moreover, since it seems like a self-creation without scripture and reason, it can also be negated. There are four ways to negate this: like crushing the dust of previous schools; like raining down other harms; like dropping hailstones of contradictory reason; like thundering out a decisive sound. The first point is that for all those who want to establish things by their own nature, saying that destruction cannot be a real thing is short-sighted, because considering destruction as a real thing is the tenet of the Materialists, and it has been refuted by Dharmakirti. The Madhyamika's position has never had the tenet that destruction is a real thing, and here it will be prevented. The first view is that since all the parts of the sprout have disappeared and no other things such as vases have been obtained as a reason, destruction is not a real thing at all, but this is not the case. If this were the case, then according to the first view, after all the parts of the sprout have disappeared, the trunk grows, which is also not a real thing, because the reason is the same. For the latter view, it is not contradictory that what is imputed as near-taking relies on the collection of aggregates of near-taking, and it is not contradictory that destruction arising from reliance on the cause of destruction is not a real thing, the two are completely different in example and meaning, because according to that view, if there is no aggregate of near-taking, then the imputed near-taking must also not exist, while the destruction-object proponents only establish it when there is no cause of destruction. Think well. Regarding the scriptural proof, the Sutra of Ten Grounds says: The cause of arising

If one considers "death" in aging and death to be the destruction of sentient beings, then, at that time, do sentient beings exist or not? If they exist, then even at the moment of the destruction of a sprout, the sprout should still exist; if they do not exist, then the view that sentient beings cease to exist after death falls into the nihilistic school. All followers of this system, without being obscured by bias, please judge impartially. If you say that at the moment of death, the previous moment of the sentient being does not exist, so death is the destruction of the sentient being, then aging should also be the destruction of the destruction of the sentient being, because the reason is the same. Similarly, each of the twelve links should be the destruction of the destruction of the sentient being, because the reason is the same. If something exists, then it must be the destruction of the destruction of its previous moment, which is ridiculous! Separating aging and death, death arises from birth as a cause, and it is said that it produces ignorance, so it is of no benefit to one's own system and cannot harm the systems of others, because it has already been refuted that it is a destruction, and death is acknowledged by others as a thing. What is the reason for so many errors in this argument? Whether the birth and death of sentient beings are considered to be things, whether they are produced by causes, all these aspects are completely the same. However, this neither establishes one's own system nor harms the systems of others, as has already been said. If it is said that not staying in the second moment and not having stayed in the second moment are the same, then that is too much. Not staying in the second moment is the first moment, so it can be considered a thing. If not having stayed in the second moment is produced by things and causes, then not having stayed in the third moment and not having stayed in the fourth moment, etc., should also be the same, and it is also acknowledged that they are the same. Now, for example, the destruction of the destruction of a sprout will be produced by causes until samsara is empty. "The existent and the non-existent are compounded." The thing in this statement is compounded, so it is of no help to this issue. If this argument shows that the unconditioned is compounded, then it must be acknowledged that destruction is unconditioned. "Nirvana is pacified from the exhaustion of causes." If the exhaustion in this statement is a thing and compounded, then nirvana becomes a compounded thing, and that is also to be
