Therefore, at the time of realization, if one denies the nature of how things arise, one will realize emptiness. Therefore, just as hammers and the like are the cause of the destruction of things like pots, if emptiness also becomes the cause of denying the self-nature of things, that is unreasonable. Therefore, one should not admit that the self-nature of things arises at all times. Its meaning is that if the Mind-Only school believes that dependent objects are established by their own nature and are produced by other causes and conditions in the ultimate truth, then when the noble meditative equipoise realizes that dependent objects are empty of self-nature, and that all dharmas included in the imputed and dependent are devoid of self-nature, emptiness will be realized by denying the nature of how dependent objects arise. Because dependent objects are established by their own nature, it realizes that dependent objects are not established by their own nature. Similarly, emptiness would be the cause of the destruction of dependent objects, because when emptiness is not realized, dependent objects exist by their own nature, but when it is realized, dependent objects do not exist by their own nature. Since both of these situations are unreasonable, one should not admit that dependent objects are established by their own nature and are produced by other causes and conditions in the ultimate truth. Some people do not understand this meaning and interpret it as being directed at the earlier proponent, the Madhyamaka Svatantrika. Because the earlier commentary on the lower treatises says, "Since there is no arising in the ultimate truth, it depends on refuting arising from self and other," which contradicts the fact that the Svatantrika does not admit arising in the ultimate truth. Some say that the Mind-Only school does not admit that the noble meditative equipoise sees things as being empty of self-nature, which is also not grasping the point. Because they believe that the noble meditative equipoise only sees the perfectly established, which is empty of the dependent and the imputed, like space. This is because the Madhyamikas are pointing out the fault of the situation of the object and the way the mind grasps it being inconsistent. Merely admitting the self-characteristics, self-essence, and self-nature of form, feeling, etc., does not mean that they are established by their own nature.

If there is no need to accept, then what is the reason for accepting these tenets? If there is a need, please consider whether your acceptance that all dharmas have their own essence in the Prasangika system contradicts or not. Secondly, in the Ratnakuta Sutra, it says: 'Subhuti, furthermore, to properly contemplate the dharmas of the Middle Way, it is not that emptiness makes the dharmas empty, but the dharmas themselves are emptiness.' It also quotes what was said similarly about the signless, the wishless, the unconditioned, the unborn, and the unarisen. Thirdly, in the same scripture, the Mind-Only school's assertion that the emptiness of the two, grasper and grasped, is truly established is also refuted, because in that case, it would become that only emptiness makes that dharma empty, and not that it is empty by its own nature, therefore it contradicts the previous sutra. Considering this, the Four Hundred Verses says: 'Not seeing emptiness, not seeing the possessor of emptiness, not seeing nirvana as self, the Tathagatas speak of those who do not transcend suffering due to wrong views.' And it is said in the Root Wisdom: 'The Buddhas have said that emptiness is for the sake of abandoning all views. Those who hold emptiness as a view are said to be incurable.' Here, some who claim to be Madhyamikas say that the meaning of all dharmas being empty of their own essence is the meaning of a vase being empty of truth. If a vase is empty of a vase, then there should be no vase in the vase, and if there is no self for oneself, then there is none for anyone else, so the vase becomes completely non-existent. When you worry that the vase is empty of its own essence, the vase is completely non-existent, you who claim to be a Madhyamika are so beautiful. In the face of the wisdom that realizes that the vase is empty of its own essence, if there is a vase, then what is the situation of the vase being empty of truth? If there is no vase in that wisdom, then the fault that the vase becomes completely non-existent, under what circumstances and to whom is it thrown? Furthermore, the essence of the vase is not the vase, but the truth of the vase, because of the difference in acceptance. If you accept, then why does it not contradict the acceptance that the essence of the vase exists? The second point has three: If analyzed, conventionalities are destroyed; analyzing conventionalities is the same; without analyzing, there is birth.
