merely established by the power of terminology, there is nothing else, as it is said, it merely abides as a name. If one knows these well, then all phenomena must be established dependently, imputed dependently, and arise dependently, therefore, there is no establishment by own nature, there is no independent own nature that is not established by the power of other terminologies, and if one establishes any phenomenon as existent, if one does not seek the meaning of imputation and establishes it, these will be well known. Secondly, the grasping as existent that is not merely established by the power of the terminology of name as previously explained is the innate grasping as existent as true, ultimate, truly established, by its own nature, by its own characteristics, and by its own essence, and the object of clinging grasped by it is the true measure of what is included in imputation. The Svātantrikas consider that it is impossible for knowables to be established by the three truths, but they consider that the three, such as establishment by own nature, exist in terminology, as it is said, when the object of mind enters, there is one that grasps as true, one that grasps as untrue, and one that grasps without distinguishing between the two, there are three in total, therefore, even if one does not grasp as untrue, it is not necessary to grasp as true, similarly, even if one does not enter into the two selves, it is not necessary to enter into the two selflessnesses, because there is one limitless mind that abides in the third aggregate. Thus, if one is well versed in recognizing the grasping of truth, one will know that there are many conceptualizations that are not the grasping of the two selves, therefore, wanting to refute with reasoning the suchness of all objects grasped by conceptualization, all wrong conceptualizations will cease, as it is written. Regarding this, the Svātantrikas consider that it is not established by the power of appearing to the mind, but that the way of abiding of those phenomena exists, and they accept it as the true measure that is refuted by reasoning, this contradicts you, because if Bhavaviveka accepts the three, such as the establishment of external objects by own nature, then it is contradictory not to accept the way of abiding of external objects that is not established by the power of appearing to the mind. In the occasion of refuting that with reasoning, he refutes the partless consciousness and establishes the partful, for the partful, he refutes the difference in nature between the part and the partful and establishes the nature as one, these are also spoken arbitrarily without investigation, or oneself

This is a slander against the great beings of the lineages. When establishing a tenet with one-and-many-separate aspects from the treatises of one's own lineage, the truth of oneness is refuted by the sign of appearing as having many parts. It is only said that by negating one pervader, many pervaded objects can be negated. Because the reasoning that establishes the absence of truth, ultimately establishing the part and the whole as being one in essence, does not appear in any of the treatises of one's own lineage. Furthermore, according to their view, the part and the whole being one in essence is a way of abiding that is not established by the power of the mind's appearance. In reality, the part and the whole are one in essence, but no matter how the mind focuses, those two are different in essence. How to answer that? Furthermore, no matter how the mind focuses, the self and the aggregates appear to be different in essence. Because the chariot and the parts of the chariot appear to be different in essence. If you accept that, the five views of the outsiders who consider the self and the aggregates to be different in essence are views that consider the self to exist independently of the aggregates, so they are not counted among the views of the perishable collection. As stated in the commentary of this treatise, consider whether it contradicts what you have accepted. It is highly unreasonable to think that the identification of the object to be refuted by the reasoning of the Consequentialists is established merely by the power of the words of names. Because the object to be refuted here is the six, such as truth and ultimate existence, it is therefore admitted that they do not exist even conventionally. But the former (Svatantrika) exists conventionally. If it is not established, it is similar to naming something with a swollen belly and shrunken legs as a vase, and naming the perfect Buddha as omniscient, both of which are established merely by the power of naming. Because those two are the same in that they are not established merely by the power of naming. If you accept that, then those two will become the same as arbitrary names. Therefore, explaining the meaning of what is named, for names with reasons, when searching with conventional valid cognition, it can be found, and both the Consequentialists and the Autonomists are the same. When searching with ultimate valid cognition, it cannot be found, and both accept that, so saying that this is the unique object to be refuted by the Consequentialists is merely a proposition without proof. In this way, if the clinging to truth is well recognized, then many realizations that are not the clinging to the self and the two will arise.
