As stated in the commentary, this means that ordinary individuals cannot freely compose treatises explaining the meaning of the Buddha's words without relying on scriptural reasoning and the guru's instructions, and that composing treatises explaining the meaning of the Buddha's words requires attaining a bhumi (level of realization). As stated by Master Śāntarakṣita: 'Where are the treatises with unclear wisdom, the externalist views? The realm of noble wisdom is vast, where is the meaning of the treatises?' It is like that. Secondly, there are three: what should be taught to the vessel, the benefits of teaching it, and therefore the exhortation to listen. First, 'each', etc. In general, there are three objects to whom the view of emptiness is taught: to those who assert the tenets of speaking of entities, both internal and external, it is taught by refuting their wrong conceptions with the reasoning of the Prasangika; to beginners, it is taught after gradually training their minds; and to those who have awakened the Mahayana lineage, it is taught from the very beginning. The first is like this master refuting the Samkhya's assertion that 'the sprout arises from itself', by stating harms such as 'birth is meaningless', reversing their wrong conception of 'arising from itself'. Although no other proof of the sprout arising from itself is seen other than self-arising, the meaning of selflessness is realized. Thus, it is the same for all realists who establish the proof of the true existence of dharmas and persons. Secondly, 'To sentient beings whose minds have not been trained, teaching emptiness', as stated in the root downfall of the Bodhisattva, it is established that beginners who have not entered a philosophical system should gradually train their minds with leisure and endowment, etc., and then teach emptiness later. Thirdly, as stated in the Sutra of the Ten Bhumis: 'Just as fire is known from smoke, and water is known from waterfowl, the lineage of the wise Bodhisattva is known from those signs.' The meaning of this is stated in the Ratnavali: 'Profound and obscure, fearful, to some who practice Bodhi.' It is like that. The meaning of 'obscure' is the signs of body and speech explained in this text, those who possess them. This, in the Uttaratantra and the Ornament of the Mahayana Sutras, as the cause of the noble Bodhisattva, the four qualities of faith in the Mahayana Dharma, etc., are taught, which are faith in the Dharma and faith in...

It has the same meaning as the faith you mentioned. The teaching of the Dharma must also be based on the reasoning explained in the scriptures. If it is taught only with vows without reasoning, the meaning is uncertain. Therefore, sharp-witted people will not generate certainty, and dull-witted people will either abandon emptiness and fall into evil destinies, or hold emptiness as meaningless, thereby increasing the wrong views that slander all things. As stated in the "Root Verses on the Middle Way": "If one views emptiness incorrectly, it will destroy the small-minded, just as grasping a snake incorrectly, or performing a mantra incorrectly." And as stated in the "Ratnavali": "If this Dharma is understood wrongly, even the unwise will be harmed. Likewise, seeing non-existence, one will sink into impurity." It's like that. If someone thinks that the reasoning explained in the scriptures is not to prevent realism, that's also true. For the first object, it is taught by preventing the wrong distinctions established by each sect. For the latter two objects, it is taught by determining that if things exist by their own nature, they will not exceed these states of existence. Otherwise, this scripture only says that the true nature is taught for the latter object, and how can it be explained that the true nature that is taught is taught by preventing the four extremes of birth? The beginning and end of the great scriptures should be linked together, and explained by explaining that this is the right time at this moment. One should not abandon others by generalizing. Second, for these three objects, after determining the view of emptiness, these qualities will appear, because one must be proficient in profound and vast principles. Third, profound and so on. Third, there are two ways to determine the emptiness to be explained: explaining the emptiness to be realized by the common vehicle, and explaining the emptiness to be realized by the Mahayana. The first is divided into two: explaining through the way of dependent origination of the non-self of phenomena, and explaining through the way of dependent origination of the non-self of the person. The first is divided into three: the way to determine the true nature from the scriptures, the way to determine it in the treatises, and the way to prove it with reasoning in this treatise. The first comes from the "Holy Ten Bhumi Sutra": "O sons of the Buddhas! Bodhi"
