It is said to be like fire and so on. These arguments and in the Sutra of Ten Grounds say, "From smoke, one knows there is fire." and so on. The meaning of that in this treatise says, "Even in the time of ordinary beings, after hearing emptiness." and so on. Because the Perfection of Wisdom Sutra and treatises say that the arguments of non-retrogression and all the arguments for establishing the conventional are also considered as autonomous arguments in the system of the Consequentialists, because for the three modes, the proponent and the opponent both establish the thesis from the sign that is established as a common appearance. The second aspect has two: showing that suffering is the cause of removal, and also becomes the cause of constant happiness. The first is: beings and so on. The second is: this also and so on. Just as the generosity of the Bodhisattvas is the first cause of becoming a Buddha, and is the sign of the certainty of non-manifest qualities, similarly the suffering of ordinary beings and Hearers and Solitary Buddhas is also the removal, and is the cause of obtaining constant happiness, thus it is shown. The third aspect has four: showing that the attainment of manifest joy of the fruit is obtained, therefore the speech of generosity is the main thing, the difference of joy is more excellent than the metaphor, refuting the dispute about the way of obtaining joy. The first is: travelers and so on. The second is: because of what and so on. The third is: as it is and so on. The fourth is: cutting the body and so on. Also, for anyone who has not obtained the state of non-attachment, when the object that contradicts the existence of the body truly descends, when the suffering of the body will inevitably arise, it is also the cause of engaging even more in the work of benefiting sentient beings, thus it is said. Fourth, showing the distinction of the perfections is: generosity and so on. In the commentary: Among them, the so-called "far shore" is the far shore and edge of the ocean of samsara, which is the Buddha himself, the nature of abandoning all defilements and obscurations of knowledge. Reaching the far shore is the perfection. Thus it is said. If there is a later phrase, it should not be made unclear. By this definition of "one should not make the classification of actions unclear", because it has not been made unclear, it becomes form, or becomes giving and so on, therefore it is the edge of man.

It is established as it is. After grasping wisdom, it is explained separately, because generosity and so on are similar to reaching the other shore, so it is reaching the other shore. With the distinction of complete dedication, after definitely going to the other shore, generosity will not become unattainable of the other shore. The precepts and so on that are to be explained should also be understood in the same way. As said, this meaning has three: explaining the term "to the other shore," the basis for establishing it as a real name, and the basis for establishing it as a nominal name. Among these three, first, the other shore is the Buddha-land, and reaching is already reached, which is the basis for establishing the meaning of the words separately. The Sanskrit word for "the other shore" is pāra, giving the second case ending ama in the singular, because the letter a expresses the meaning, and later the inanimate ma is connected upwards, the middle is pāram, meaning "to the other shore there," becoming the accusative case. Generally speaking, after giving the case, after the word is established, the case is not manifested, but according to the treatise on grammar, if there is a word after it, it should not be unmanifested, therefore the Sanskrit word for "reaching," because the word ita exists after it, the letter ma is not unmanifested and becomes a form, or it is a collection of preṣodara, for the sake of beautiful form, it is also established as having a ma ending. Those inanimate sounds and ita are connected, so pāramita is already reached the Buddha-land. The second is to grasp wisdom and then explain it separately, that is, based on wisdom, this reaching the other shore is explained separately, so it becomes wisdom reaching the other shore, not prajñā distinguished by the category of six or ten perfections, but prajñā that becomes the main content of the Prajñāpāramitā Sutra, Dharmakīrti said, wisdom and reaching the other shore are inseparable, that wisdom is the Tathagata. What is said is the same as this meaning. The third is that the perfection of generosity, etc., especially obtained in the first bhūmi, is named "reaching the other shore" because it is similar to reaching the other shore. How is it similar? Because with the distinction of complete dedication, it will become going to the other shore. But it is not a characteristic, because it is not reaching the Buddha-land, Dharmakīrti said, the object to be proven combines that meaning.
