Moreover, even if you destroy those sequences of truths in that way, your substance will not be established. Why? Because substance has already been refuted, your efforts will be in vain. Thus it is said. In particular, falling away from the conventional truth, like others clinging to substance, will destroy all the establishments of worldly conventions. In the commentary on "From the perspective of others, clinging to substance destroys all the establishments of worldly conventions," it says: Because of the lack of wisdom, merely clinging to understanding substance, like not emptying another's water-filled vase, because of one's own bad intelligence, the worldly establishments, which are established solely by the world, such as "stay, go away, do, cook," and similarly, all things such as form and feeling will be destroyed. Therefore, for this, there will only be decline, and no increase. Thus it is said. Although these are words of harm to the Mind-Only school, for all those who consider the ultimate truth to be the basis of the conventional truth, and who believe in the existence of substance, this way of reasoning will be harmful, without distinction. Regarding the establishment of the recognition of the ultimate truth, in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara it says: "Yogis also harm with the difference of wisdom, those above and above." Thus it is said. In particular, for the Vaibhashikas who believe that non-associated formations and the basis of the unconditioned are established as substance, the Sautrantikas harm with the reasoning that "stages and those possessing stages cannot be said to be the same or different" and the reasoning that "prevents things from being permanent." Both of them, the Vaibhashikas and the Sautrantikas, admit that external objects are established as substance, to this, the Mind-Only school harms with the reasoning of six aggregates as one or different. All three of them admit that consciousness is established as substance, to this, the Madhyamikas harm with the reasoning of being separate from one and many, etc. As it says in the Compendium of Knowledge: "Consciousness is ultimate, but the steadfast ones do not accept it, because it is separate from the nature of one and many, like a lotus in the sky." Thus it is said. The second aspect is divided into two: the establishment of the conventional truth and the establishment of the ultimate truth. The first aspect is divided into two: refuting the unreasonable aspects and establishing the reasonable aspects. The first is, the Indian logician says, the appearance of emptiness is an aggregate.

It is unreasonable to say that "illusory phenomena are established in the face of ultimate reasoning, because that is the object to be proven by ultimate reasoning," because it is contradictory for it to be established in its face since it is refuted by ultimate reasoning, and because there is nothing that can be established as absolute in the face of ultimate reasoning. The proof is also unreasonable because ultimate reasoning does not negate truth on top of appearance, nor does it prove the illusory nature of the union of appearance and emptiness. Machik Jangye said, "Conventional truth is true in the face of a deluded mind, so it is established by mere unexamined delusion." This is also unreasonable, because mere unexamined delusion can only establish appearance, but it cannot negate truth on top of it, and if it is not negated, the object cannot be established as false. If that is not established, the mind with the object cannot be established as deluded. If that is not established, then truth cannot be established in its face. Patsab Lotsawa said, "When truth is negated on top of appearance, the union of appearance and emptiness becomes like an illusion, so it is established by mere ultimate reasoning." This is also unreasonable, because it may be possible to establish it in this way for those who accept appearance, but since there are many nihilistic views that deny appearance itself, appearance itself must also be proven in its face. The second part has two points: establishing the basis of the definition and establishing the characteristics of the definition. The first is: relying on conventional truth, the reasoning that prevents the extreme of denying existence. This includes two aspects: how to slander, and the reasoning that prevents slander. The first is: slandering the basis, nihilists believe that there is no past or future life, do not acknowledge the cause and effect of karma, the Ishvaras kill sentient beings for the sake of worshiping Ishvara, but believe that there is no path of unwholesome actions, and the followers of Brahma believe that Brahmins take the property of others without permission, but believe that there is no path of unwholesome actions, and so on. Slandering the path, from the perspective of the expression, the Hearers believe that the Great Vehicle is not the word of the Buddha. From the perspective of the expressed, it is believed that Bodhisattvas do not have ten bhumis, and that the individual Bodhisattva is in samsara.
