It seems that Machik (Tibetan: རྨ་བྱ་) said that entering the main argument is through the means of distinction and complete severance. The former mainly negates inherent existence, while the latter considers that although there is no inherent existence, appearances are like illusions and mirages, as shown by examples. The third part is divided into two parts. When examining the conditions of fundamental wisdom, negating arising from other, refuting contradictions with one's own words, is argumentative refutation. Thus, the nature of things is not in conditions, etc. If my things do not exist, how can other things exist? Before the arising of inner and outer fruits, if they exist in their respective causes and conditions, aggregates, and others, then they also do not exist in the place where they will arise from these, because they are visible but not obtainable, and arising becomes meaningless. Therefore, whatever does not exist in a certain place does not arise from there, like extracting oil from sand. For example, things do not arise from other changes, thus showing the emptiness of self-nature. Others say, then according to the same reasoning, your Madhyamaka's vow of negating self-nature is also established as emptiness without self-nature because it does not arise from other, so you cannot negate the other side. If that word has self-nature, then your previous vow that all dharmas are without self-nature is broken, and you must also explain the special reason why only that word has self-nature. If the self-nature of all things does not exist in everything, then your word also has no self-nature and cannot negate self-nature. If that word has self-nature, your previous vow is broken. If this is different, please explain the special reason. For such refutations, because that word has no self-nature, it does not contradict the previous statement that all dharmas are without self-nature. Moreover, there is no need to explain a special reason in that place. Although the word has no self-nature, so it cannot negate the other side by itself, but because the object to be negated and the negator are not established, it is not admitted that the other side is negated only. Although there is no self-nature, it is not contradictory to negate the other side in name, just like an illusory person defeats others, or a dream
