That is why. The scriptures also say: Just as the blind cannot see the sun, self-nature and ultimate truth are not the realm of speculators. It is said that the ultimate truth is not the realm of speculation. It cannot be established by the scriptural authority either, because it does not accept other scriptures, and there is no teaching from the scriptures of the Sugata, as it is said: I have not taught even a little of the true self-nature of all dharmas. Because there is no analogy established as similar in both, it cannot be established by the measure of analogy. In this way, people should not say that there must be a truly established dharma in what is to be known, because there is no measure to grasp it. Just like eating meat on the ground, it should be determined in this way. Some people think that the establishing measure of Madhyamaka was said to be the measure before, but here the measure is refuted again, and the measure of elimination is desired, so how can the meaning of before and after and direct and indirect not be contradictory? Although it is so, the measure of the true object that is refuted here, even if it is observed, it is not said before that it will definitely arise in the mind. For this reason, there is no fault in contradicting the master's explanation of the measure, because the master does not accept the measure that is reasonable after observation, but only speaks of the classification of the measure that is famous in the world. In addition, all such as measure and measurable are merely nominal conventions, therefore, for the things that can establish the true dharma in the ultimate sense, none of the direct perception etc. can be found. In this way, just like the consciousness of a person with cataracts, it only appears to be true, and cannot be established as a measure with true meaning, and the existence of the true object cannot establish it, if the non-deception of knowledge becomes what is to be established, then the true object of it is extremely difficult to establish, so it will become mutually dependent, just like the fallen rely on the fallen, both become unable to establish. If you want to rely on producing fruit etc. to establish it, then that also relies on other fruits etc., and it will become endless. Therefore, from the cause of mere name, the fruit is produced, and its cause

All realizations and so on are merely appearances, and reason should never be used as evidence for them. Therefore, it must be determined that at no time does there exist a truly existent realm that is the object of the practice of noble reason. The refutation of the means of establishing existence, i.e., the valid cognition that establishes it, has already been explained. Secondly, regarding the reasoning that refutes the cause of establishing non-existence, i.e., the reasoning that harms it, there are two types: primarily refuting the self of conceptual imputation and primarily refuting the object of observation without distinguishing between conceptual imputation and co-emergent. The first is that yogis also refute by means of the difference of intelligence, by means of the refutation of the higher and higher, which is like the reasoning explained in the Compendium of the Essence of Wisdom. The person's self, which is permanent and unitary, imputed by the outsiders, and the self of phenomena, the chief, and the permanent atoms, etc., of the Vaibhashikas, are refuted by the reasoning of the Sautrantikas. The non-associated compositional factors and the basis of the unconditioned, which are imputed by them, are refuted by the reasoning of the Chittamatrins. The truly existent external objects, which are imputed by them, are refuted by the reasoning of the Madhyamikas. The knowledge of the two emptinesses and the truly existent emptiness, which are imputed by them, are refuted by the reasoning of the Madhyamikas, thereby leading to the state of freedom from the four extremes of elaboration. The refutation of all conceptual imputations by the reasoning of the Madhyamikas is like the Commentary on the Mind of Enlightenment, which summarizes all the truly existent things imputed by the self and other schools, i.e., the person's self, which is permanent and unitary, and the truly existent phenomena, which are included in the two, the grasper and the grasped, the knowledge of the two emptinesses, and the four truly existent emptinesses, and then refutes them by the reasoning of the Madhyamikas, ultimately leading to the state of freedom from elaboration. The second is the reasoning spoken of in the Collection of Reasonings. In the Root Verses on the Middle Way, the objects of observation, the twenty-seven conventional truths that are known in the world, are summarized, thereby preventing the attachment to these things as being truly existent. For some phenomena such as causes and aggregates, elements, and sense bases, the primary refutation is of the self of conceptual imputation, and it also refutes the object of the co-emergent self. For some phenomena such as going and coming, actions, and agents, the primary refutation is of the co-emergent self, and it also refutes the self of conceptual imputation. If we summarize these reasons, it is the type of reasoning that refutes the self of phenomena.
