In the "Illumination of Correct View: A Commentary on Wisdom," the examination of perversions is the commentary on the twenty-third chapter. Third, there are two ways to avoid being too extreme: refuting the extreme that the noble truths and so on do not exist, and refuting the extreme that nirvana does not exist. The first has three parts: First, the connection of the treatise is: If all phenomena are emptiness, then it is too extreme to say that the noble truths and so on do not exist. This treatise is established to refute this dispute. The second has two parts: First, there are two ways to explain with reason: the opponent and the answer. The first has five parts: It is too extreme to say that the knowable four noble truths do not exist, it is too extreme to say that the wisdom of the path as the object-possessor does not exist, it is too extreme to say that the three jewels as the result do not exist, it is too extreme to say that karma and result do not exist, and it is too extreme to say that worldly conventions are unreasonable. The first is: If all these phenomena are empty of inherent existence, then emptiness of inherent existence means non-existence, then there is no arising and no ceasing. If you accept that, then it would be too extreme to say that the four noble truths do not exist in your system. The second is: If you accept the former, then because the four noble truths do not exist, it is not reasonable to fully know suffering, abandon the origin, cultivate the path, and realize cessation. The third is: Because fully knowing suffering and so on do not exist, the four fruits, such as the fruit of stream-entry, also do not exist. If you accept that, then because there are no four fruits, there are no fruit-dwellers, and because there are no fruit-dwellers, there are no stream-enterers and so on. If those eight types of individuals of the stream-entry fruit do not exist, then the Sangha does not exist. Furthermore, because the four noble truths do not exist, the sacred Dharma also does not exist, and if the Dharma and Sangha do not exist, how can the Buddha exist? Therefore, he does not exist. Therefore, if one speaks of the Buddha and so on as empty in that way, then one is harming the Three Jewels. And "ciing" is used to include what follows. The fourth is: Furthermore, if one grasps at emptiness, then it harms the existence of the results of virtue and non-virtue, and the existence of the cause, non-virtuous non-Dharma and virtuous Dharma itself.

It will also become like that. Fifth, worldly terms such as "bring it here, put it there," etc., are harmful to everything. Second, there are three points in the answer: the reasons for others' arguments, the reason why one has no faults, and the greatness of realizing dependent origination. The first point has two: arguing because of not understanding the meaning of emptiness, and arguing because of not understanding the meaning of the two truths. The first is: the answer to the debater. You, the proponent of inherent existence, because you have not understood the necessity of the Blessed One's teaching of emptiness, the nature of emptiness, and the meaning of the term emptiness, therefore, the faults you mentioned earlier to the Madhyamikas are actually harmful to the proponent of inherent existence himself. Among them, the necessity of teaching emptiness is: "Liberation through the exhaustion of karma and afflictions." The nature is: "Not known from others, peaceful," and so on. The meaning of the term is: "Whatever is dependently originated, that is taught as emptiness." The second point has five: the nature of the two truths to be realized, the fault of not understanding it, the necessity of teaching the two truths, the fault of holding wrong views about emptiness, therefore, emptiness is not taught first but explained. The first is: The Dharma taught by the Buddhas truly relies on the two truths to be explained. These two are the conventional truth and the ultimate truth. The second is: Those who cannot distinguish the difference between these two truths, they cannot understand the true nature of the profound dependent origination taught by the Buddha. Because dependent origination is established as the union of the two truths. The third is: If liberation can be attained by teaching only the ultimate truth, then is it not necessary to teach the two truths? No, the conventional truth must also be taught. Because without relying on the conventional truth, the ultimate truth cannot be taught; without understanding the ultimate truth, Nirvana cannot be attained. The fourth is: Looking at emptiness wrongly, that is, holding wrong views, will lead people with little wisdom to destruction. For example, just like grabbing a poisonous snake wrongly without the protection of mantras, etc., and the rituals of lineage mantras decline.
