That is why it is explained. If it is said that the term "pratītyasamutpāda" ( प्रतीत्यसमुत्पाद,Sanskrit Devanagari, pratītyasamutpāda, Sanskrit Romanization, dependent arising) is not a term that explains the reason, but rather a term of the victorious one who enters into the reason, because the teacher said, "When this exists, this arises, for example, when short exists, long exists." If you say that, from that scripture, our tenet is established, relying on short and contacting smallness, because it shows that long arises in dependence on short. It is also unreasonable to say "not a term that explains the reason," because the teacher clearly said, "That which arises in dependence on that and that, its own nature is not born from that." Therefore, it is clearly stated as explaining the reason. Second, there are three aspects of special qualities: identifying the nature of each of the eight special qualities, determining the number as eight, and avoiding unreasonable order. First, although the eight establishments such as cessation in conventional truth are implicitly shown as special qualities, what is explicitly shown here are the eight special qualities of negation, such as non-cessation. Among them, all negations depend on identifying the object to be negated, therefore, this cessation is not established as an agent and an action, but because of cessation, it is cessation, the action of a substance disintegrating in an instant. Because of arising, it is arising, the new arising of something that did not exist before. Because of cessation, it is cessation, the interruption of the continuum of things. Permanence is existing without disintegrating. Coming is the coming near of those who are in a distant place. Going is the going far of those who are in a nearby place. The meaning of different is that the nature of the meaning or things are different. The meaning of the same is that the nature of the meaning or things are not different but the same. Are these non-existent in ultimate truth? Or are they also non-existent in conventional truth? Some commentators say that permanence and cessation are non-existent even in name, and the others are non-existent in ultimate truth, but Candrakirti's view is that the appearance of the eight, such as arising and ceasing, in the innate mind of the world is conventional truth, and that which is not found when analyzed by wisdom is the special quality explicitly shown here, and it is believed that appearing as arising and ceasing after that is like illusion, appearing in delusion even though it does not exist. If it is said that the true arising and ceasing to be negated are not established...

Oh, regarding those things that are obstructed, does merely the obstructing dharma exist or not? If it exists, then the elaboration of obstruction is established in the ultimate truth; if it does not exist, then the true arising and ceasing, etc., in dependent origination are established. Regarding this, from the two levels of wisdom, if arising and ceasing, etc., are taken as the main objects to be obstructed, then there is no contradiction in merely establishing the obstruction itself, because this is the time when arising, etc., are taken as objects to be obstructed, thereby leading to a definite understanding of the unborn, etc. Then, is this obstruction itself established as the reality? Regarding this, here it is the obstruction of existence itself, not the establishment of non-existence itself. And, since the object of obstruction is not existent, therefore, it is clear that there is truly no obstruction. When examining it in this way, the obstruction itself is not established, because it is the object to be obstructed, and because it cannot be found when examining it. Second, here only the eight differences of obstructing dharmas are mentioned, not merely enumerating examples or existence as in the commentary, but because these are the reasons why they mainly become points of contention. After saying this, some explain that because these eight objects of obstruction are very clear, there is great attachment to them, and therefore they have become the basis of contention. Some explain that because the two, arising and ceasing, which are famous in one's own school, the two, permanence and annihilation, which are famous in other schools, and the latter four, which are famous in the world, are the most important, therefore eight objects of obstruction are mentioned. Third, the arising, abiding, and ceasing of a single dharma occur in sequence, so it should be known that arising is mentioned first. If it is thought that cessation must precede arising, but the arising of a result must also precede the cessation of the cause, therefore this is to show the meaning that there is no definite order of precedence between arising and ceasing. If arising occurs first, and aging and death occur later, then there will be no arising, aging, and death, and there will be arising even without dying. As it is said. Third, thinking about the oneness and otherness of the basis and the dharma, is that the ancients, not the conventional truth of the ultimate truth, and the dependent origination of the subject is unspeakable as the same essence and different entities. In the face of wisdom, arising, etc., are the conventional truth that is obstructed, the essence is one, but the reverse is different. Although it is said that way, but from the seed sprouts, when using wisdom to examine the four extremes, the dependent origination of the subject itself also...
