In order to establish, from the perspective of the agent, there is no need to act on what has already become. Without an agent, it becomes karma. Analyze and apply it in this way. The second case is: because one has not become an agent, karma cannot be combined with what has not become karma, nor can it be both karma and not karma, which is not established. The reason for this is as stated above, from the perspective of not becoming an agent, if one acts without becoming an agent, then the agent will also become causeless. Analyze and apply it in this way. The third case is: that which is both an agent and not an agent, as a dharma, cannot separately become either karma or not karma. Here too, it should be understood that there are two reasons as stated above. For the three cases of being both an agent and being karma, and not becoming karma, in order, being and not being, becoming one, how can there be mutual contradiction? And, there is no need to act on what has already become, without karma one will also become an agent. And, if one acts without becoming karma, then karma will have no cause. These have already been said. Secondly, showing that these two are established in mutual dependence. If that is the case, the Able One said, "The karmas I have done, I will experience them separately." Saying it like this, using this method to prevent, will it become a wrong view of thinking there is no karma and result? It is not like that. Analyzing with wisdom the way karma produces results, thereby establishing the ultimate truth, and the two situations of establishing karma and result in a conventional way without analyzing. Everything that was said just now is in terms of the first situation. In the latter case, it is admitted that only causes and conditions like illusions arise dependently in this way. Because, establishing the agent saying "this is the agent of karma" is done relying on karma. Because the very thing that the agent is doing is karma, so karma only arises relying on that agent, other than that, if analyzed with wisdom, no reason for establishment is seen. Therefore, when establishing karma and result in name and form, do not analyze with wisdom, because analyzing with wisdom will not find karma and result, and this is exactly the situation of establishing karma and result.

The demarcation between these two appears to be very important. As stated in the Bodhicitta Commentary: "One should not analyze cause and effect." And in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra: "Since it is not analyzed for the sake of the result." And in the Madhyamakāvatāra: "Why, when these entities are analyzed, they are not found to exist inherently, separate from the object. Therefore, one should not analyze conventional truths." And, "Thinking about cause and effect is also refuted." These are all the intentions. Third, comparing this reasoning to other dharmas: Action and agent are established merely in name, dependent on each other, and are not established by their own nature. Similarly, because it is appropriation, it is appropriation. It shows the act of appropriation. It also holds its own proof, the agent who appropriates, and the object to be appropriated. Therefore, these two are also established in dependence on each other, and it should be known that they are not established by their own nature. This is because, in general, the establishment of action and agent by their own nature is excluded. Not only these two, but also the remaining objects produced by action and agent, such as what is produced and what produces, the goer and what is gone to, what is to be seen and what sees, characteristic and characterized, what is to be produced and what produces, limb and what has limbs, etc., should all be known to be established in dependence on each other, and not established by their own nature. Because the reasoning is the same. If one thinks that the words "remaining objects" are able to understand what is to be appropriated and what appropriates, so there is no need to list them separately, that is true, but they are listed separately in order to know what is most important to be distinguished. Because in the later chapters, analysis of only these two will mostly occur. This is what is said in the commentary. Second, combining with scripture: The Blessed One said: "I will show the fear of hell, even if it makes thousands of beings weary, those beings who die and transmigrate, constantly going to the lower realms, never exist. Those who wield swords, arrows, and other weapons to harm, do not exist. Because under the power of delusion, in those lower realms, one sees weapons falling on the body, but there are no weapons there. Various pleasing...

Look, the flowers are blooming, and the golden palace is shining, which is pleasing to the heart and refreshing. There is no author for them here, and those are all established by discrimination. Discriminate the world with the power of discrimination, and distinguish children by clinging to concepts. The grasper and the grasped are also not real. Complete discrimination is like illusion and mirage. As it is said, one should know its teaching method as before. Third, in the "Commentary on the Root Wisdom of the Middle Way: The Light of True Seeing," it is called "Investigation of the Author and Action," which is a detailed explanation of the eighth chapter. Second, regarding the emptiness of the self of dependent origination, it is divided into two parts: refuting the nature of the self of the person, and refuting its arguments. The first part is divided into three points: First, a detailed explanation of the relationship: In this way, it is unreasonable to show that what is taken and what is taken are without self-nature, because the taker takes what is taken because what is taken already exists, so it is considered that these two are self-existent. In order to refute this view, this detailed explanation is said. Second, the detailed explanation of the treatise is divided into two parts: First, establishing with reason is divided into three points: refuting that the taker is established by self-nature, thereby showing that what is taken is refuted, and summarizing the meaning of these two. The first part is divided into two points: stating the former's point of view and refuting it. First, some people who are respected by their own sects say that in order to eliminate karma and authors, this statement is unreasonable. Because, for example, what is taken, such as the six inner places of seeing and hearing, and feelings, touch, thought, etc., is the author or whose self is made? That self exists before those taken, they say. Why do you say that? Because if there is no entity of the taker before what is taken, then he has not accumulated the cause, how can he take the fruit of seeing, etc.? It's like a widow's son taking the accumulated property. Therefore, before those taken, there is the entity of my self that can take them, they say. The second part is divided into three points: refuting that the taker exists before all taken, refuting that the taker exists before each taken, and refuting the cause of seeing, etc.
