If the agent is already an agent, then the action associated with the act will not occur. If the non-agent who is not associated with the act is also not a non-act. These two are transcendent commitments, which are proven by the text below. The second point is divided into two parts: refuting from the affirmative side, and refuting from the negative side. The first point is: the agent is already an agent, as the subject, the action will not occur, because there is no other action than making oneself an agent. If there is another action, then that action also does not depend on the agent, and it will become an action not completed by the agent, which is impossible. The act is already an act, as the subject, it is not completed by the agent, because there is no other action than making oneself an act. If there is another action, then the agent also does not depend on the act to become an agent, which is impossible. The second point is: if the non-agent who is not associated with the act completes the non-act, that is also unreasonable, because from the perspective of the agent, the agent will also lose the reason for establishment, and from the perspective of the act, the act will also lose the reason for establishment. If you accept both of these inferences, then if you think that the act and the agent have no cause and effect, then in general, the effect produced by the cause, and the cause that produces that effect, will also not be valid, because the reason is the same. If you also accept this, then if the effect and its cause do not exist, then the act of the effect arising, and the agent who controls it, and some agents completing the effect, will not be understood, because there is no effect and cause. If you also accept this, then if the agent, act, and completion included by the act, etc., are not understood, then the higher realms and the definite virtues, and the non-dharma contrary to this, will not exist. If there is no dharma and non-dharma, then the results of happiness and suffering arising from these two will not exist. If you also think so, if these two fruits of dharma do not exist, then in order to obtain them, the supramundane and mundane paths leading to liberation and rebirth as gods, cultivation will not be reasonable, because there is no result to be obtained.

Furthermore, if cause and effect do not exist, then worldly activities such as farming would all become meaningless, but that is not the case. Therefore, it is unreasonable to assert that there are no effects and causes. These inferences, as well as those such as "The four noble truths will not exist for you" below, are stated without distinguishing between conventional and ultimate truth. For the opponent, if something exists, it necessarily exists ultimately, so it can be inferred that it does not exist even conventionally. For the proponent, this is merely to refute the opponent's wrong view. It should be understood that this does not mean accepting the wrong view implied by the inference. Secondly, it is the case that an agent that is both an action and not an action, both become and not become, cannot do both become and not become as an object. How can it be that from the perspective of both the agent and the object, something that is both become and not become exist for one agent and one object, since they are mutually contradictory? The second point is divided into two parts: refuting that each agent does one incompatible thing, and refuting that each agent does two incompatible things. The first point is: An agent that has become does not do what has not become; an agent that has not become also does not do what has become. This is the thesis. The reason for this is "here, too, the same fault will occur," that is, for the four cases of agent become, object not become, agent not become, and object become, respectively, one would fall into the faults already explained: "If it has become, there is nothing to do; without an agent, the object becomes," "If it does what has not become, then the object has no cause," "If it does what has not become, then the agent also has no cause," and "If it has become, there is nothing to do; without an object, the agent also becomes." The second point is divided into three parts: refuting that an agent that has become does two incompatible things, refuting that an agent that has not become does two incompatible things, and refuting that both do two incompatible things. The first point is: An agent that has become does not do both what has not become and what has become. The reason for this is as stated above.
