We generate desire, and like illusions, we do not understand women. Just as in a young girl's dream, she sees a boy being born and dying, rejoicing at his birth and not rejoicing at his death, know that all phenomena are like that. Like a Gandharva city, a mirage, and an illusion, and like a dream, all phenomena should be understood in that way, contemplating appearances, while being empty of inherent existence. Thus it is said. It should be understood that the way the Madhyamaka's own system accepts conventional truth, and that for this, it is also necessary to first examine with reason, thereby showing the union of the two truths. The commentary on the Root Wisdom of the Middle Way, called "The Light of True Seeing," which is called "Examination of Birth, Abiding, and Cessation," is the explanation of the seventh chapter. Third, refuting the agent and action has three parts: First, the connection of the chapter is: aggregates, elements, and sources are indeed existent by their own nature. The sutra says: "The person, the individual, associated with ignorance, is the agent who manifestly performs meritorious deeds, non-meritorious deeds, and unwavering deeds." Thus it is said, because there is its cause, action, and because there is its agent. Examining this, in order to show that action and agent are not established, this chapter is composed. Second, explaining the text of the chapter, there are two parts: First, establishing with reason, there are three parts: refuting that action and agent are established by their own nature, showing that the two are established in dependence on each other, and comparing this reason to other phenomena. First, there are two parts: refuting the doer and the deed of the homogenous side, and refuting the doer and the deed of the heterogeneous side. First, there are two parts: refuting the doer and the deed of each of their homogenous sides, and refuting the doer and the deed of both of their homogenous sides. First, there are two parts: stating the proposition, and explaining the reason. The first is: in general, when performing some action, the agent possesses the action of doing, therefore it is the agent, and if it does not possess it, it is not, and it becomes both by the difference of the two, and it is impossible for anything other than these three to exist. For action, there is also correspondence with the action of the agent, therefore it is action, and if it does not correspond, it is not, and it becomes both by the difference of the two, and it is impossible for anything other than these two to exist, therefore, examining these three situations, it is refuted, that is, possessing action.
