How can it be established by its own nature? It is unreasonable, because for contradictories, it is unreasonable to have a third category of refutation and establishment. Fifth, examining whether the action of going is one with or different from the goer and refuting it: If one thinks that just as a speaker speaks words and an actor performs actions, the action of going also exists as the action of the goer, then if the goer performs the action of going, does he perform the action that manifests himself as the goer, or does he perform the action of going that is other than that? Among them, firstly, that action of going by which Devadatta is manifested and becomes the action of the goer, is not gone and done by him, because if the goer is established before the action of going that manifests himself as the goer, then where will the previously established goer perform the action of going in villages and cities, etc.? Even if it becomes logical, it is also because the goer himself does not exist before the action of going that manifests himself as the goer, because there is no goer who does not depend on the action of going. Secondly, that action of going by which Devadatta is manifested and becomes the action of the goer, that which is other than that, is also not gone and done by that goer, because for a single goer like Devadatta, the action that manifests himself as the goer and the action of going that is other than that are both unreasonable. Secondly, summarizing the reasoning and showing it: Having become a goer, one does not perform the action of going on the three paths of going, because it has already been blocked by the doors of the agent, the object, and the action. Having become a non-goer, one also does not perform the action of going on the three paths of going, because all three have already been blocked. That which has become both a goer and a non-goer also does not perform the action of going on the three paths of going, because it has already been blocked. Therefore, the action of going, the goer, and the path of the object to be gone, all three are not existent by their own nature. The second is, as it is said in the Sutra Taught by Holy Inexhaustible Intelligence, "The monk, the son of Sharadvati, has come," this is a summarizing word. The monk, the son of Sharadvati,

The word "going" is an exclusive term. For that which has neither inclusive nor exclusive terms, there is neither coming nor going. The absence of coming and going is the going of the noble ones. As it is said: 'If there is a seed, it is like a sprout. What is the seed is not the same as the sprout. It is neither different from it, nor is it the same. Thus, it is neither permanent nor discontinuous, it is the nature of phenomena.' And as it is said: 'Although the reflection of a mirror appears in a mirror, it is not observed that the mirror has moved. It is not in that, it is not in another. Thus, compounded things are neither permanent nor discontinuous.' And as it is said: 'On the surface of a mirror and on vessels of sesame oil, when one looks at them adorned like the face of a woman, a child develops attachment to them and runs very much in order to seek desire. The face itself does not move, but one never finds a face in the reflection. Just as those fools generate attachment, so should you know all phenomena.' Thus it is said. As it is also said in the King of Samadhis Sutra: 'At that time, the sinless one, endowed with the ten powers, the Victorious One, explained this supreme samadhi: The going of existence is like a dream; in this, there is no birth and no death. Sentient beings, people, and life are not found; these phenomena are like bubbles and water plants. Like illusions, like lightning in the sky; like the moon in water and like mirages. Some people die in this world and transmigrate to another world, but there is no going. The actions that have been done are never wasted; in samsara, the fruits of black and white ripen. It is not permanent and does not become discontinuous; there is no accumulation of karma and no abiding. Having been done, it does not become untouched; what has been done by others is not experienced. Everything is neither existent nor nonexistent; in this, the place of seeing is not pure. The conduct of sentient beings is utterly peaceful, there is no entering. The three realms are like a dream, without essence; quickly decaying and impermanent, like an illusion. There is no coming and no going in this; the aggregates are always empty and without characteristics. The realm of the Sugata is the quality of the Victorious Ones; the place of no birth, peace, and no characteristics. Power and dharanis and the power of the ten powers; this is the supreme of the Buddhas, the best of the flock.'
