and also corresponds to touch, feeling, perception, and formation. These dharmas are also included in the maturation, and are subtle, difficult for worldly wise people to understand, and constantly and equally engage in one object. Among these mental factors, the feeling that corresponds to the Alaya consciousness is neither purely painful nor pleasant, but is neutral. Similarly, other mind-born dharmas should also be explained in this way. It is said, and these meanings are summarized in the "Thirty Verses": "Constantly with them, attention." and so on. The reason for not corresponding to other mental factors has been explained in the chapter on corresponding actions. Sixth, the reason for entering: Does the Alaya consciousness enter in a unique and inseparable way until the cycle of reincarnation, or does it enter in an impermanent continuous way? The answer is: "Like the flow of the Ganges River." Therefore, it enters in an impermanent continuous way. There are three ways of entering into this: momentary entry, reincarnation entry, and lifetime entry. The first is, in the "Compendium," it says: "Object and correspondence together, one cause is the only one, simultaneous reality turns, and from afflictions turns." Here are four ways of entering and one way of ceasing. The first, entering by object, such as the current Alaya consciousness turning to the inner taking aggregate and the outer container world, and the second moment and even turning to the two. The second, entering by correspondence, such as the current Alaya consciousness only corresponding to the all-pervasive, and the second moment and even turning to it in correspondence. The third, entering with one cause being the only one, such as the current Alaya consciousness being the basis for the seeds of good, non-good, and neutral arising for the entering consciousness, as the cause, and the colored roots held by the Alaya consciousness as the basis for the arising of the five consciousnesses, and as the place of mind and consciousness, as the dominant condition. Similarly, the entering consciousness also to the Alaya consciousness

Here, the entering consciousness, with good, non-good, and neutral as causes, nourishes and increases the seeds of the homogeneous cause for future arising, which is the dominant condition; and like planting the seeds of the ripening fruit for the future arising of the Alaya consciousness itself, it is the co-existent cause. Thus, from the second moment onwards, the entering consciousness also arises in a way that mutually conditions each other. As the Sutra of Dharmapada says: "All dharmas are joined with consciousness, and they are also like that, mutually as objects of fruit and constantly joined as causes." And as the Compendium says: "The Alaya consciousness possesses seeds. Those that arise dependent on it are the five aggregates of consciousness that arise dependent on the colored roots grasped by the Alaya consciousness; if not grasped, they do not arise. The support of the five aggregates of consciousness, like the eye, etc., if there is mind and the Alaya consciousness that supports the mind, then mind and consciousness will also arise, if not, then not. Among them, the entering consciousness has two functions: when acting as the co-existent condition for the Alaya consciousness, it can increase the seeds in this life and hold the seeds for achieving it in the next life." Among them, that which increases the seeds in this life means that, like relying on the Alaya consciousness, the entering consciousness arises as good, non-good, and neutral; thus, the habits that arise and cease simultaneously with its support act as a door. Because of that cause and that condition, the entering consciousness also revolves and becomes extremely familiar, extremely practiced, and extremely bright good things. The different kind of habit of that is to enter into the womb in order to hold the ripening of the Alaya consciousness itself in the next life. Thus it is said. Fourth, there are three ways in which co-existent entities enter the womb: when entering the state of non-perception, it is in union with the mind; in the formless realm, it is in union with both mind and consciousness; thus, according to the conditions, up to seven consciousnesses.
