The Establishment of Aggregates, Elements, and Sources: Opening the Door to Knowing All That Is. The Establishment of Aggregates, Elements, and Sources: Opening the Door to Knowing All That Is. This is the treatise called "The Establishment of Aggregates, Elements, and Sources: Opening the Door to Knowing All That Is." I prostrate with reverence to the Lama and the supreme tutelary deity, the protector Manjushri! Your body, like pure gold, is naturally beautiful, adorned with scriptures and a sword; Your speech, like the voice of Brahma, is naturally gentle, endowed with sixty qualities; Your mind, like the light of the sun, is naturally clear, adorned with the light of wisdom; Your heart, like a wish-fulfilling jewel, is naturally non-conceptual, with spontaneously accomplished wisdom, Victorious One! In Jambudvipa, who is it that distinguishes all the mothers of Dharma without obstruction? Among the holders of scriptures, who is it that establishes the appearance of terms, the friend of Dharma? In the ocean of wisdom, who is it that causes the rain of good explanations to fall, the all-holding ocean? To all those who dwell in the past, present, and wherever they may be, I prostrate with reverence! Although the learned predecessors have not repeatedly examined whether this object of knowledge exists, Like the lord of the sky-goers, in the celestial path of playing with swirling dances, Like a young bee buzzing and moving its wingtips, With clear and sharp eyes of wisdom, I am delighted to distinguish the nature of reality. Here is a summary: The necessity of explaining the three Dharmas, The general establishment of the three Dharmas, The difficulties of the aggregates, in detail, This meaning is summarized by three explanations. Among these, the first is: All the establishments of aggregates, elements, and sources spoken by the perfectly enlightened Buddha are for the purpose of abandoning the root of afflictions—self-grasping. Furthermore, it is necessary to abandon it by refuting the object of attachment of self-grasping. As it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition: Without refuting this object, It is not possible to abandon it. The abandonment of attachment and hatred, Which are connected with qualities and faults, Is because they are not seen in the object, But because of external appearances. So it is said. That object of attachment is also the co-emergent self-grasping, which focuses on the aggregates, elements, and sources, and the mere "I" that is mistaken as me. Therefore, it is merely a phenomenon included in the aggregates, elements, and sources, which are the basis of delusion.
