When it possesses, the previous twenty, and adding each individually makes twenty-one. Non-virtue is unmixed. When associated with views, twenty arise. Four afflictions, anger, etc., and regret are twenty-one. Thus it is said. The mind of desire realm obscured and indeterminate is the mind that possesses the same as the two (referring to the two types of indeterminate minds). For it, there are ten mental grounds, six afflictive grounds, and two kinds of investigation, making eighteen in total. The way views do not particularly change is the same as before. The unobscured and indeterminate mind has ten mental grounds and two kinds of investigation, making twelve in total. Obscured has eighteen indeterminate, others are considered twelve. Thus it is said. Sleep does not contradict any of the three, virtue, etc., so when it is present, it is additionally possessed. Because sleep does not contradict anything, whatever it is present in is added. Thus it is said. Secondly, from the perspective of the higher realms, in the first dhyana, among those things that were said, there are no regret and sleep, and among the ten of anger, etc., except for agitation, deceit, and pride, the other seven, as well as wrath and the two roots of non-virtue. The others are the same as before, and there is no investigation on top of the special dhyana. In the second dhyana, there are no investigation and deceit either, and the others are the same as before. From them, regret, sleep, non-virtue, etc., are not present in the first dhyana. Investigation is also a special dhyana, and there is no examination above it. Thus it is said. Thirdly, the difference between similarity and sameness is that the difference between shamelessness and lack of embarrassment is that the former is disrespect for qualities and those who possess qualities, while the latter does not regard what should not be done as terrible. Both of the two mentioned in the Compendium are also included in the latter category. The difference between joy and respect is that the former is faith and the latter is knowing shame. In the commentary, four possibilities are explained for joy and faith. The difference between investigation and examination is that the mind is coarse and the mind is subtle. The difference between pride and arrogance is that pride is relying on others and being proud, while arrogance is not relying on others but being attached to one's own dharma and being completely filled with it. Fourthly, the similarity between difference and sameness is that the scriptures say: mind, intellect, and consciousness, what is said means the same thing, consciousness.

Because it distinguishes the six (realms), it is mind; because it knows, it is intellect; because it discerns, it is consciousness. Likewise, "mind and mental factors," as well as "with support," "with object," "with aspect," and the fivefold concurrence, are also of one meaning, because they are the general name for mind and mental factors. The manner of concurrence is fivefold: support, object, aspect, time, and substance concurrence. The first four are mostly the same as those stated in the higher Abhidharma, but the last is completely different. Here, it is held that just as the main mind is a single substance, the mental factors are also each a single substance, so the meaning of substance concurrence is that the substances are each the same. But the Sutra School holds that the mind and substance are the same substance, and this is substance concurrence. This itself is in accordance with reason. If the meaning of the same support is that it relies on the same support, etc., and the four similarities are all explained as the same meaning, then the meaning of the same substance can only be the same substance. The concurrent aggregates have been explained. Second, the non-concurrent aggregates are summarized as follows: the view of nominal existence, the view of substantial existence, and the analysis of reasoning treatises. These three ways summarize this meaning. That is, the first view of nominal existence is the view of the Compendium of Topics, which includes the examination of entity, number, and order, the summary of classification, and the respective entities, in four parts. The first part is that the Vaibhashikas hold that other substantially existent substances produced by causes and conditions outside of the three, form, mind, and mental factors, are unreasonable, because no valid cognition measures the existence of other substances outside of these three. If composite things and their impermanence are different substances, then composite things would become permanent. If it is substantially existent, then it must not rely on other dharmas, and it itself can appear in consciousness, but if these three states of dharmas are not placed in consciousness, it cannot appear in consciousness. Also, the Sutra School and some other Mind-Only schools hold that it is a negation of negation, according to the fifteenth ground of the Yogacarabhumi Sutra: These non-concurrent formations do not possess the characteristics of the three, form, mind, and mental factors, but these dharmas are nominally existent. And the reasoning is that from these states of things
