This view is unreasonable because there is the ninth method of abiding the mind, which is focused intention. In the realm of consciousness, it has been explained that all levels from faith to non-harm exist. In the Abhidharmakośa, it is also explained that all virtuous mental factors are present in the virtuous mind of the desire realm. Therefore, all corresponding mental factors will arise. If someone thinks that this contradicts what is said in the sutras, "After that, his body and mind attain great pliancy, and it is called accompanied by attention," then it is precisely because of this that it is proven that great pliancy exists. In the ninth method, there are three types of pliancy: small, medium, and large. After attaining great pliancy, the preliminary concentration of the first dhyana is placed in tranquility. There are thirty-nine mental factors in the first dhyana. Because the continuum is moistened by tranquility and there is no torment at all, anger, which is the basis of hatred, and the resulting resentment, malice, indignation, jealousy, and non-harm do not exist. Since one is free from attachment to possessions, there is no miserliness. Since there is no non-virtue, there is no shamelessness or immodesty. For the same reason, concealment, which is hiding after committing non-virtue, does not exist either. Since it is extremely incompatible with samadhi, regret and sleep do not exist either. If someone asks, then lethargy and excitement should also exist, right? Answer: No, because they exist in meditators who have a greater degree of ignorance and craving. In special dhyana, in addition to the above twelve mental factors, there is no conceptualization either. In the second dhyana and above, in addition to the above thirteen mental factors, there is no investigation, flattery, or deceit either, because one is free from attachment to samsara and nirvana. If someone asks, why do flattery and deceit exist in the first dhyana? Answer: The sutra says, "In the desire realm and the first dhyana, flattery and deceit are for deceiving Brahma." If someone thinks that there should be conceptualization and investigation in these dhyanas because there is verbal expression, hearing, and cultivation of tranquility and violence, then the Abhidharmakośa says, "In the second dhyana and so on, the consciousness of the body, eye, and ear can arise to recognize, and whatever these are belong to the first dhyana." Therefore, the conceptualization and investigation of the first dhyana are led and produced. This is because on the level of conceptualization and investigation, conceptualization and investigation are compatible with detachment, so these do not exist.

It is incorrect to say that there is no place of universal origination. General seventh: In the Thirty Verses, it says: Universal action and specific determination, mental factors are virtuous and, likewise, afflictions and near afflictions. In the Pankan, it says: Regret and the other four are also in other places. Therefore, feeling and the other five are universal actions, because they correspond to the three realms and all formless minds. Because all minds experience, grasp characteristics, move in objects, enter into objects of focus, and do not arise without the aggregation of the three. Even when the three are aggregated, they are not confused with touch. Desire and the other five are specifically determined, in order: thought and, determination and, familiarity and, arising only from what can be examined. Faith and the other eleven are virtuous, because they counteract non-virtue and produce desired results. Desire and the other six or ten are afflictions, because they make the mind extremely uneasy. Anger and the other twenty are near afflictions, because they belong to the category of afflictions and are close to afflicting the mind. Sleep and the other four are variable, because they can be transformed into the three, such as virtue. General eighth: Some early people thought that all mental factors had a definite number of fifty-one in things. To this, Panglo Chenpo said that the two noble ones, like the regents of the Dharma King, in the Compendium of Grounds and the Middle Way Precious Garland, spoke of many faults arising from sporadic teachings, such as fabrication defiled by anger, speaking of two faults, quick slander, not accumulating, mind turbidity, and the thought of not dying. Nagarjuna and his sons, in the tantric treatises, spoke of eighty natures of distinctions, some of which are included here, but some do not seem to be included. In the Compendium, mental factors such as wrong desire, wrong faith, and wrong mindfulness are also mentioned, so it is said because of the desire to express, but it is not that there is a definite number of things, and this view is correct. Regarding the order of the six categories of mental factors, the early people said that the five universal actions are the same as all lower mental factors, so they are first proclaimed. For specific determination, desire and wisdom
