Day and night appear equal. At that time, Jambudvipa has twelve yudtsam during the day and eighteen yudtsam during the night. The opposite occurs in the north. In the east, nine yudtsam appear in the morning, and in the north, there are nine yudtsam in the evening, because the sun's movement is the same for both. In the east, six yudtsam appear in the evening, and in the south, six yudtsam appear in the morning, because the sun's movement is the same for both. At that time, six yudtsam appear in the west in the morning, and six yudtsam appear in the south in the evening, because the sun's movement is the same for both. After three months, Jambudvipa experiences the spring equinox, the west experiences the winter solstice, the north experiences the autumnal equinox, and the east experiences the summer solstice. After three months, Jambudvipa experiences the summer solstice, and the others follow accordingly. After three months, Jambudvipa experiences the autumnal equinox, and the others follow accordingly. These are the cycles of one continent in a year. Second, according to this system, midnight in Jambudvipa, sunset in the west, noon in the north, and sunrise in the east all occur at the same time every day. Third, then, why does the sun travel slowly when it moves in the sky directly above the center of the continent, even though the path is short, and why does it travel quickly when it descends into the ocean outside the continent, even though the path is long? When descending into the ocean, the wind of the iron mountain is added to the self-propelling wind, so it is very fast. Then, when approaching Mount Meru, the speed becomes slower and slower because the distance from the wind of the iron mountain increases. When reaching the end of the northern journey, it is only propelled by the self-propelling wind, so it is very slow, as the wise men of the past believed. Fourth, according to this system, the sun illuminates two continents and keeps two continents in darkness, which happens constantly. The second part has four aspects: explaining the system of simultaneous occurrence, identifying where the four seasons indicated in the scriptures arise, the reasons for the sun's speed and slowness, and explaining what the sun does in the continents.

The first view is: winter, spring, summer, and autumn arrive simultaneously in all four continents. The second view is: in the four continents, the time when the sun sets at midnight and the sun rises at noon is the same. The time of the autumnal equinox, when day and night are equal, occurs only on one day, and the time of the vernal equinox, when day and night are equal, also occurs only on one day, and this does not happen at other times. The third view is the same as the first. The fourth view is that there are times when the sun and moon only act on one continent. When the winter sun is at its shortest, at noon in any one continent, the sun only acts on that one continent. Because three "yudtsas" have passed since the sun set in another continent, and there are still three "yudtsas" left before the sun rises in another continent, so the sun does not act on that continent. After that, after three "yudtsas" have passed, the sun rises in the continent in front, so the sun acts on two continents. After another six "yudtsas", when the sun is at noon in the continent in front, the way the sun only acts on that one continent is the same as before. There are also times when the sun only acts on two continents, which are the two days of the spring and autumn equinoxes when day and night are equal. There are also times when the sun acts on three continents, which is when the summer sun is at its longest. At noon in any one continent, there are still three "yudtsas" left before the sun sets in another continent, and the sun has risen in the continent in front for three "yudtsas". According to this view, when the sun is in the center of any one continent, the rising and setting of the sun is determined by whether the edge of the sun's rays has disappeared, and not by whether there is an obstruction. It is like placing a lamp in the center of a vast plain. That's what they say. Third, if you ask which of these two views is more reasonable? The first view has the following problem: the sky in the direction of the sunrise at the time of the vernal equinox in Jambudvipa should not allow the sun to move north even slightly, because that is the sky where the sun is located when it reaches the limit of its northward movement in Sharluspak continent. If this argument is accepted, then the four seasons will be confused, and the four situations of midnight, etc.
