It is considered that this merely shows the continuous existence of the non-substantial aggregate of formation. The sixth reason is to show that one has attained mastery over lifespan. That is, in order to fulfill the vow, "I have cultivated the four miraculous legs, and I am able to remain for a kalpa or more," and in order to subdue the wandering ascetic Rabzang, the master considers that after blessing for three months, there is no further purpose for subduing those to be tamed, so he relinquishes his lifespan. The Vaibhashikas, however, believe that this is to show victory over the four maras. That is, under the Bodhi tree, in the first watch, he overcame the son of the gods Mara; in the second watch, he observed the world with his divine eye; in the third watch, he overcame the afflictions Mara; in the city of Vaishali, by blessing the formation of life, he overcame the Lord of Death Mara; and near the city of Kushinagar, by relinquishing the formation of life, he overcame the aggregate Mara. In the context of "the five mental events," there are eight common meanings: the common definition of mental events, the detailed classification of inner differences, the difference between substantial and imputed, the difference between principal and retinue, the difference between realm and ground, which consciousness is the retinue of, the order of categories, and the common meaning of the term. The first is that it is the same as mind, possessing five similarities: the two rely on the same basis, therefore the basis is the same; they focus on the same object, therefore the object is the same; the way they grasp that object is the same, therefore the aspect is the same; the three of arising, abiding, and ceasing occur at the same time, therefore the time is the same; just as each consciousness is one entity, mental events such as feeling are also each entity, therefore the entity is the same. This is the school that believes that mind and mental events are different entities. If they are considered to be the same entity, just as the first four similarities can be explained as the same, here too it can be explained as the same, and there is no contradiction in the way of explaining it. The second is that in the Higher Abhidharma, fifty-one mental events are mentioned. If we explain the way of collecting the divisions of numbers here, there are forty-six substantially existent, five imputedly existent, and on top of that, twenty-four minor bases. In the first, there are two

Therefore, all mental factors of the three realms arise. Among the eleven virtuous dharmas, except for non-ignorance, the other ten are established as the grounds for many virtuous dharmas, because they arise in all virtuous minds of the six consciousnesses, with outflows, without outflows, and the three realms. From the root afflictions, ignorance and five of the lower ten near afflictions, such as non-diligence, a total of six are established as the grounds for many afflictions, because they arise in all afflicted minds of the six consciousnesses and the three realms. From the lower ten near afflictions, shamelessness and lack of embarrassment are established as the grounds for many non-virtuous dharmas, because they arise in all non-virtuous minds of the six consciousnesses. The first group of ten near afflictions, such as anger, are established as the grounds for minor afflictions, because they contradict the five, such as attachment and hatred, and are similar to and associated with only ignorance, and do not wrongly grasp the truth, and are associated with the minds to be abandoned by meditation, and are conceptualizations that mix sound and meaning, therefore they are only associated with the mind. The category of uncertain dharmas is established as the four transformations, and the other four root afflictions besides ignorance and view, because they are not absolutely certain in any of the previous categories. The summary of this is, the friend said: "Searching and analysis, and regret, sleep and anger, greed and so on, mind and doubt, these eight are said to be uncertain." So it is said. Among them, the so-called mind, the "ཡིད" in ཡིད (Tibetan for mind) is pronounced short, while the "མཱ་ན་" in ང་རྒྱལ (Tibetan for pride, Sanskrit: māna, Romanized Sanskrit: māna, literal Chinese meaning: pride) is pronounced long, which is a phonetic error of the translator, its meaning is pride, so Chim believes. The prince said that view is also uncertain, therefore the summary is not pleasing to the ear, but the previous wise ones said that view is not substantial, therefore there is no fault, this is a good saying. Second, imputed existence, non-ignorance among the eleven virtuous dharmas, and view among the root afflictions, and the three of non-awareness among the lower ten near afflictions, because they are afflictions of wisdom, therefore they are established on wisdom. Mindfulness is the affliction of mindfulness, and agitation is the affliction of samadhi, therefore they are established on them. The twenty-four minor secondary afflictions are: displeasure and reproach, and timidity, and stupor, and the temperature of food not
