Therefore, although liberated from one and different, considering the number of what is to be negated, there is only the name of number, and it is considered that there is no contradiction. Third, regarding non-analytical cessation, there are four aspects: entity, definition, meaning of the term, and four possibilities related to the two cessations. The first is: being established as an unconditioned substance. As the scripture says: "The Blessed One said, the going of the unfortunate realms of the stream-enterer has ceased." Because the cause of the unfortunate realms is non-virtue, which is to be abandoned by cultivation, although the stream-enterer has not obtained analytical cessation, because the path of seeing has arisen, the conditions for doing non-virtue are not complete, so non-analytical cessation is obtained. If it is only the incompleteness of conditions, then if similar conditions are near, it will arise, because it is impossible not to arise, so it is established as a substance. The Sautrantikas consider that merely not arising due to the incompleteness of conditions is what is labeled with the name of cessation. The second is: whatever cessation permanently obstructs the arising of what is to be negated. It is a cessation other than analytical cessation. The definition of "for arising" cuts off impermanence, which is already arisen and destroyed. "Permanently" cuts off arising and the cessation of meditative absorption, as well as the three without mind. "Obstructing" cuts off the non-affirmative negation of merely not arising. "Other cessation" cuts off analytical cessation. The third is: it is obtained not by the wisdom of analysis, but by the incompleteness of conditions other than wisdom. For example, when the eye and mind are distracted by something, the consciousness of grasping the crow behind will not arise. This is because the objective condition is incomplete, or the immediately preceding condition is incomplete, so that consciousness will never arise. The fourth is: if the basis of what is ceased by analysis is also non-analytical, and if the basis of non-analytical cessation is also analytical cessation? For this, there are four possibilities. The first possibility is: contaminated and subject to arising. Because it is contaminated, analytical cessation is obtained. Because it is of the nature of arising, non-analytical cessation is not obtained. The second possibility is: uncontaminated and not of the nature of arising. The reason is the opposite. The third possibility is: contaminated and not arising, the reasons are in order. The fourth possibility is: in the uncontaminated, the third is subject to arising, it should be understood by comparing with the previous reasons. The detailed explanation of the aggregates, elements, and sources has already been explained elsewhere, so it is there.

It should be observed. In the phrase "wandering and mindless again," for non-revealing form, there are two types: substantial and incidental. The first has three aspects: entity, definition, and meaning. The first has six aspects. The term "wandering" has multiple meanings, but here it refers to something other than the mind that arises from itself, that is, the mind of non-virtuous motivation is virtuous, and it does not allow other minds to follow until it ceases. This is like the king's son, who is merely a revealer, and as Gampopa said, it is different from the body's revealer. Furthermore, "mindless" refers to the continuum that abides in the two absorptions. This is different from mind and mental factors. This is in terms of the non-revealing of desire realm, but the two grounds of equipoise are uncertain because they are followers of the mind. Also, "again" refers to following the non-wandering and mindful states, which shows that it is not contradictory to the mind. "Virtuous and non-virtuous" refers to mental factors that are unspecified, because they are weak and cannot initiate all of this, so their nature must be either virtuous or non-virtuous. This eliminates the eye, etc. What is called "related" is that which is supremely stable, so that even in states of wandering, the continuum is not interrupted. This is different from mere revelation or the revelation of speech. "Great elements" refers to that which is caused by way of producing, supporting, abiding, relying, and increasing, which eliminates the continuum of attainment. Having six characteristics is said to be non-revealing, which shows the teacher's view. The teacher Asanga has six faults in this: incompleteness, contradiction, degeneration, becoming the same, redundancy, and not distinguishing the characteristics of action. Because the first moment is not a continuum, it is incomplete; because the continuum is not a substance, it contradicts the scriptures that say it is a substance; because in the case of wandering and mindlessness, the connection with the continuum does not exist in equipoise, it is degeneration; if it is thought to exist in the non-wandering and mindful states, then the revealing of virtuous and non-virtuous will also become the same; because wandering includes all mindful states, the word "again" is redundant.
