One should repeat three times, "I shall remove it," and take appropriate measures. The causes of the destruction of blessings are the destruction of the blessed object, spoilage, removal through ritual, and exceeding their respective expiration dates. Second, the method of how to use medicinal utensils is: utensils should also avoid two extremes, and be used appropriately, qualified, and blessed. The method of using them is: if the monk is old, prostrate; if young, respectfully request. Both stand, placing the bowl on the left hand of both, covering the mouth of the bowl with the right hand. When formally beginning, inform the Sangha: "Venerable ones, please listen, I, the Bhikshu (name), wish to bless this vessel of the Holy One, suitable for holding food, so that it may become a vessel for begging." Repeat three times. Finally, in response to "The method is correct," say "Good." Small utensils include: small bowls, drinking cups, medicine cups, plates, and general containers for pills. Small implements include: needles, knives, razors, nail clippers, straws, etc. For their blessings, it is sufficient to generate the mind with their respective names. When removing the blessing of the bowl, inform the Sangha: "Venerable ones, please listen, I, the Bhikshu (name), remove the blessing from this vessel of the Holy One, suitable for holding food, which is a vessel for begging. Therefore, I shall remove it." Repeat three times. Third, how to construct a suitable dwelling for food has five aspects: where to demarcate a suitable dwelling, by whom to demarcate it, when to demarcate it, why to demarcate it, and the ritual of demarcation. First, within one's own or a similar boundary, connected to something solid, without coverings, useful to all, and not prohibited by the Buddha, such as under trees or elephant enclosures. Second, only by the wages of the craftsman, or the wages of the craftsman and many, or the Sangha, or in the absence of these, the Bhikshus who have gone for the sake of dwelling. Third, initially when laying bricks, later when newly built or renovated, at other times when the Bhikshu is dwelling and has not left, and when these are absent.
