There are three types of abandonment: possessing summer gains as one's own, concealing, and abandoning after concealing. The first has four aspects: the basis is that the place is a layman with five names, and the objects are different. The object is a suitable and qualified summer gain other than food. The self is that one has vowed to observe the summer retreat and wants to receive a share. The time is within the summer, and due to restrictions, it is not the last ten days. The thought is that the perception is not mistaken, and the motivation is to want to possess it as one's own. The action is to act in this way, and the ultimate result is obtaining the gain. The second is the same as the above, and whether it is the last ten days or whether it is restricted is the same. The former is that the ritual of concealing summer gains has not been performed, while the latter has been performed. The third has four aspects: the basis is that the object is a suitable and qualified summer gain other than food, and it is one's own. The self is that one wants to receive a share, possesses the gain, has not concealed the gain, has not been designated, and is not controlled by the words of the benefactor. The thought is that the perception is not mistaken, and the motivation is to want to hold it beyond the permitted time. The ultimate result is that dawn breaks after the permitted time has passed. The permitted time is noon on the day of the dissolution. If someone asks why the order of the Sutra Root and the Pratimoksha is different, it is because both the great cloth and the restriction similarly rely on the summer retreat, so they are explained in this way in the basis and explanation, but in the Pratimoksha, due to the combination, it is considered that "so" comes first. The so-called "monastery dweller" is a part of the self. This has four aspects: the basis is that the object is any of the three Dharma robes, suitable and qualified, and has been blessed by oneself. The self is that one has not obtained permission not to separate, has not laid out and placed firmly, does not possess the three obstacles, and is a monastery dweller. The place is different from the place where the Dharma robe is. The motivation is to want to live separately. The action is to live separately. The ultimate result is that dawn breaks on the seventh day. The so-called "great cloth" is a part of the object. This has two types: abandoning after placing and searching for bedding. The first has four aspects: the basis is that the object is one's own great cloth, suitable and qualified, and not old. The self is that one has not entrusted the great cloth to the concealer. The motivation is to want to hold it. The action is to hold it beyond the permitted time. The ultimate result is that the night of half a month after the end of summer has passed. Searching for bedding has four aspects:
