Because it exists, the Svātantrika syllogism that focuses on the nature that contradicts the effect is drawn by the reductio ad absurdum that focuses on the cause that contradicts the nature. The three cases of focusing on the contradictory effect are: The eastern base pervaded by strong smoke is the subject. It is not a thing pervaded by strong smoke, it follows. Because it has a continuous cold touch, the Svātantrika syllogism that focuses on the effect that contradicts the pervader is drawn by the reductio ad absurdum that focuses on the pervaded that contradicts the cause. Again, that is the subject. It is not that, it follows. Because it has the real cause of cold touch, the Svātantrika syllogism that focuses on the effect that contradicts the effect is drawn by the reductio ad absurdum that focuses on the cause that contradicts the cause. Again, that is the subject. It is not that, it follows. Because it has a continuous cold touch, the Svātantrika syllogism that focuses on the effect that contradicts the nature is drawn by the reductio ad absurdum that focuses on the nature that contradicts the cause. The three cases of focusing on the contradictory pervaded are: The eastern base pervaded by sandalwood is the subject. It is not a thing pervaded by sandalwood, it follows. Because it has a continuous cold touch, the Svātantrika syllogism that focuses on the pervaded that contradicts the nature is drawn by the reductio ad absurdum that focuses on the nature that contradicts the pervader. Again, that is the subject. It is not that, it follows. Because it has the cold effect of causing goosebumps, the Svātantrika syllogism that focuses on the pervaded that contradicts the effect is drawn by the reductio ad absurdum that focuses on the cause that contradicts the pervader. Again, that is the subject. It is not that, it follows. Because it has the real cause of cold touch, the Svātantrika syllogism that focuses on the pervaded that contradicts the effect is drawn by the reductio ad absurdum that focuses on the cause that contradicts the pervader. These are all. Among the cases of mutual exclusion, there is one: Sound is the subject. It is not made, it follows. Because it is a permanent thing, the Svātantrika syllogism that focuses on the thing that contradicts the pervader is drawn by the reductio ad absurdum that focuses on the pervaded that contradicts the pervader. The two cases of the pervader not being established and the nature mutually excluding each other are: The base with an animal carcass is the subject. There is no animal carcass, it follows. Because there are no trees. This is the drawing of the reason of nature by the reductio ad absurdum of the pervader not being established. On the rocky fortress without trees, it is the subject. There are trees, it follows. Because there is an animal carcass, this is the reductio ad absurdum of nature.

Inference is made using the Svatantrika style of reasoning, which does not examine pervasion. These examples are given to facilitate the expression of refutations, but they are not flawless refutations because they are actual statements of refutation. For example, in the case of a Svatantrika reason, it is like taking "sound, the subject, is impermanent, because it is produced." So, what is a flawless refutation? First, like "because one generality is related to many appearances and meanings, it follows that it is many," and "because there is no fire in some places, it follows that there is no smoke," the refutation's thesis is stated. If asked why, the refutation is stated as follows: Whatever is related to many appearances and meanings is necessarily many. For example, like many mustard seeds in different containers. The single generality is also related to many appearances and meanings, this is a concordant relation. Whatever is not possible to be many is necessarily unrelated to many. For example, like a rabbit's horn. The generality that has been admitted to be related to many is also impossible to be not many, this is a discordant relation. Also, wherever there is no fire, there is necessarily no smoke. For example, like water vapor. In some places it is also admitted that there is no fire, this is a concordant relation. Wherever there is smoke, there is necessarily fire. For example, like a beehive. For some places that admit there is no fire, there is also smoke, this is a discordant relation. Then, one might think, is there no difference between this discordant relation and the statement of the Svatantrika style? The difference is very large. Because here, the mountain that the opponent admits has smoke but no fire is taken as the subject, while in the case of the Svatantrika style, the opponent takes only the mountain with smoke, for which the presence or absence of fire is uncertain, as the subject. Third, refuting the argument: If merely what is admitted by others can be taken as a reason, then it is the same for the Svatantrika style; if it cannot, then it cannot be taken for the refutation either. For the Svatantrika style, merely what is admitted by others cannot be taken as a reason, because if the reason of the Svatantrika style is not previously established by the proponent himself, he cannot establish what is to be established. For the refutation, merely what is admitted by others can be taken as a reason, because it is merely through stating the contradiction in believing that the pervaded exists on one basis while the pervader does not exist, thereby dispelling wrong conceptions.
