Connect them. The reason for saying "if it is not complete, it will become a reproach" is because, in the Pramāṇaviniścaya, it says: "For inference for the sake of others, the faults and merits of words are the main thing, but not the meaning itself. Because if what is said does not match the actual situation of the meaning, it will cause reproach to the speaker." It seems that this is how it is explained. Similarly, for a wise person who can remember and speak the property of the subject, there is also a proof statement that only states pervasion, because it is the same as what was said before. In the auto-commentary of the Tattvasaṃgraha, the connection of these quotations is done according to "For example, its own nature," etc. The meaning of this is as follows: "For example, its own nature, and the causal things, if they are not known, and shown," this is not showing the proof statement, but showing the valid cognition that establishes the pervasion relationship on the example. By showing this, when the pervasion relationship is understood on the example, there are wise people who can remember the general pervasion without relying on the proof statement, and there are also fools who cannot remember. For the former, only stating the property of the subject can generate inference, that is, "For the wise, it is only saying the reason." For the latter, a syllogism with two members is needed, but any one of the agreement in property or disagreement in property is sufficient, that is, "Because the relationship is understood." This is one of the verses. Third, in order to avoid disputes, the Abhidharmasamuccaya says: "One's own certainty, in order to make others, generate certainty, wanting to use the property of the subject and the relationship, and what is to be proven, other things said," if it is thought that this contradicts saying that the property of the subject, the relationship, and what is to be proven are separated, then there is no fault. Because "to explain what is to be proven through the property of the subject and the relationship" is summarized by the instrumental case. Its meaning is that the correct proof statement indirectly explains what is to be proven through the way of stating the three aspects, but not directly explaining what is to be proven, because it has the same meaning as what is to be proven. Third, the function of speech is to generate inference in the mind of the opponent to understand what is to be proven. Then, is this speech the direct cause of inference? No, because from this speech arises the direct perception of hearing.
