and from the Nyāyabindu, it says, 'Thus, even if the meaning is understood by force, it is only due to the similarity of designation and the identity of letters, which is difficult to establish, so it is completely avoided.' Summarizing these meanings, the Rigs gter says: 'If a subject is stated, there is a basis for confusion; if all extremes are blocked, it takes a long time; if the name of the object is stated, the composition is impaired; for easy understanding, it is called "aspect."' This is what is said. Third, what harms the object is: dharma and dharmin are not the definition of aspect, because the dharmin is already established when the dharma of the aspect is established, and the dharma is already established when the pervasion is established, so the meaning of the essence is incomplete. Second, it is necessary to determine the difference in meaning in the present context: the definition of the dharmin that one wants to know is taken as the basis for measuring the dharma to be established, which is not established or excluded on any dharmin. The definition of the dharma to be established and the dharma of the dispute is also the same. This is also the basis for measurement taken when the self-benefit sign is refuted, and the other-benefit sign is the basis for measurement taken when the opponent refutes. Second, there are five points in explaining the two aspects that are the basis for following and reversing: the way it is explained in the texts, the way it is explained by the scholars, refuting the unreasonable aspects, identifying the reasonable aspects, and dispelling disputes. The first point is: In the Pramāṇavārttika and the Nyāyabindu, it says, 'The similar aspect is similar in meaning to the object to be established. That which does not have it is the dissimilar aspect.' And because it is definitely grasped as being the same as it. If it is said that it will not exist in other dharmas? No, because it is for the sake of negating others. Because the establishment of it existing there is inclusive, because it is definitely grasped, it is to distinguish others. For example: 'At first, two sons were born to oneself, named Nara and Sredmed.' As it is said, it shows that the two aspects are not truly contradictory. Also, in 'the dharma of the aspect is similar, the aspect exists or does not exist,' it is said that the sound to be measured is permanent, and it is pervaded on both aspects of establishment. And 'whatever aspect does not agree with the dharma to be established,' etc., if one returns from the dissimilar aspect, then it exists in the similar aspect, thus it is said, therefore it shows that the two aspects are truly contradictory. The second point is: the previous scholars classified all knowable things into two aspects.
