Skyes. Because it is said so. If admitted, then the main mind and the mental factors that arise around it, as the subject, should not be different entities, because they have not been found by valid cognition to be different entities. Likewise, in the commentary on the Madhyamaka, it says, "Connection does not refer to something that arises from something and possesses excellence, therefore it should not be admitted to be different from that thing, like the second mind. For things that arise from the mind, it should not be considered that they are different from the mind and possess excellence, which refers to not finding the self-nature." Therefore, if they are not different entities, how should they be established? For that consciousness itself, from the aspect of experience, it is feeling; from the aspect of grasping the characteristics of objects, it is perception; from the aspect of manifesting actions on objects, it is intention; from the aspect of completely cutting off changes in objects, it is contact; and from the aspect of agitating objects, it is attention. This is a common saying for all consciousnesses, and other mental factors are calculated from the aspect of which they correspond to. If mind and mental factors are not different entities, then it contradicts the statement in the Abhidharma that the aggregates are different. There, it is said that the differences are different distinctions, such as sound and the impermanence of sound. Likewise, in the Auto-commentary of the Treasury of Reasoning, it says, "Just like the production and impermanence of sound, etc., although there is no difference in meaning, the Tathagata proclaimed different aggregates, and the logicians distinguished the subject, the probandum, and the reason, which is merely from different opposites, through consciousness, it is permissible to falsely impute them as different." For the third fallacy, for the person who relies on the appearance of the object of form, these two are considered to be different entities, like a burning iron block. For cats and the like that do not rely on that object, the reason is not established, because when it apprehends form, it may also not apprehend appearance, and when it apprehends appearance, it may also not apprehend form. Some people think that if the blue-apprehending eye consciousness and the appearance of blue must necessarily apprehend together, then the feeling of pleasure that arises around it, as the subject, should apprehend the blue-apprehending eye consciousness, because for it, it is blue.

Because it appears as an object, because it has the same appearance as it. If admitted, it would be a fault of experiencing it, and such a charge is harmful to the view that mind and mental factors are different entities, but it is not harmful to us, because the two are the same entity. Some argue that if there is no common object, then the knowable dharma, as a correct reason for the sake of others, if it is the proponent, for both the opponent and oneself, it would be an invalidation because it is established as a common appearance. If it exists, the reason for simultaneous apprehension would be lost. Furthermore, "If it is connected with each one," this statement would not become a connection, because saying so is not a negation. If it is said that because there is no common object, there is no fault, because for the knowable dharma as a correct reason for the sake of others, it appears common to both the opponent and oneself, it is merely appearing as the same aspect in conceptual thought, and when teaching and listening, connecting to the same thing is also merely connecting with the same aspect appearing in conceptual thought, so merely by this, the external object cannot be established as common, and the appearance that appears in conceptual thought, in general, is commonly established in the part that is imputed, but the appearance itself cannot be commonly established, because: If one abides in the object, one cannot know it, one knows it in order to know oneself. Therefore, the second, refuting the arguments against the tenets of the Mind-Only school, is divided into two: refuting the proofs for the existence of external objects, and eliminating the harm to the non-existence of external objects. The first part is divided into: stating the view and refuting the view. The first view is: the Sautrāntikas say that although it is established from the reason of simultaneous apprehension that there is one consciousness and two modes, it cannot be established that there is no external object, because it is the objective condition of sense perception, and it is established by inference that there is an external object. How is it established? Sense perception is the objective condition other than sense consciousness, if it is not so, it will not arise, and it is the common basis for occasional arising. The second part is divided into: the actual answer and the classification of the three conditions of the Mind-Only school. The first is: there is no fault, because the previously appearing sense consciousness is not necessarily occasionally arising because all external objects are present, but it is necessarily occasionally arising because all the conditions that awaken the previously appearing habit are present. If it is the same, then immediately... etc. shows. The second part is: the brothers Asanga...
