Therefore. The third view is that some scholars believe that this third pramana-fruit (pramana, fruit) view should not be the view of the Sautrantika school, because the Sautrantika school believes that external objects are real, and if examined, the cognition of external objects is the fruit, but here the cognition of external objects is taken as the fruit, which is unreasonable if examined with reason. Therefore, it seems reasonable to attribute this view to the Yogacara school. In the Yogacara school, there are also two views. The first view is to distinguish between conventional truth and ultimate truth, which is unreasonable, because in the Yogacara school, there are no external objects. In addition, denying this, the establishment of pramana-fruit with the blue cognition that has become one's own nature as the fruit also seems unreasonable. In the view of the Mind-Only school, if the objects, such as blue, yellow, etc., and the subject, such as the direct perception of the senses and consciousness, are established, then this statement seems to be a very wonderful statement, but whether blue, yellow, etc. are established is the same as the examination of external objects. Therefore, as mentioned earlier, Acharya Dharmakirti also said that for this third view, "External objects are the object to be measured, the apprehended aspect is the pramana, and self-awareness is the fruit." This is the intention of writing the treatise. So, is the external object taken as the object to be measured? This is not admitted by our own school. So what is it? "External objects do not exist, but even if they are assumed to exist," which means that external objects should not be taken as the object to be measured, but even if they are admitted as the object to be measured, they only cognize the aspect that does not cognize external objects and becomes one's own nature, and by blocking the pramana that establishes it, the external objects are indirectly blocked. As Deva Wisdom said: "Therefore, for external objects to be measured," the commentary says, "Even if the object is admitted as the object to be measured." "The meaning is that it is considered to be the object to be measured itself," the commentary says: "This is not what others want, but it is said for the sake of blocking," and so on, as quoted earlier. This is clear from the continuation and order of the scriptures. Therefore, here, the third establishment of pramana-fruit established by pramana is not established. Therefore, all the previous scholars only spoke of the pramana-fruit of the true and false aspects of the Sautrantika and Yogacara schools, and did not speak of the three fruits and proofs mentioned here.

They do not agree with this at all. Deva also said, "Experience itself is the fruit." After that, the discrimination that considers meaningless things as fruits is one. For the third establishment, they say that if that is the case, then the second discrimination is explained. Therefore, the third establishment also clearly explains the view of the Mind-Only school. Even if external objects are allowed to exist, this is admitted in a hypothetical way. In the Pramāṇavārttika, it is also said, "It is impossible to establish the nature of things as they are, because all knowledge will become one. Phenomena are diverse, because the same nature, one person will find it pleasant, while another will find it unpleasant." Here it also says, "Because it is not the fault of multiple entities." The meaning is the same. They deny the part where knowledge is similar to things. Because the cause is also a thing, so "things are considered measurable, just like some phenomena." etc., through debate, the part where things produce knowledge is denied, and it is considered that the external environment is measurable and produces similarities. This is the main view of the Sautrāntika school, and these treatises have well denied it. How can it be explained as the view of the Sautrāntika school? Therefore, it can be said with certainty that this is the view of the Mind-Only school. There are also places to study this. The Sautrāntika school believes that external objects are real, so it is unreasonable to think that things are the fruit of knowledge. They believe that fire and smoke are real, but after research, smoke is not the fruit of fire. The Mind-Only school believes that external objects are measurable in name and accepts the result of measurement, which is not contradictory to not admitting external objects, because it has been said that in this view, the existence of external objects in name does not mean that external objects really exist. If it is applied to the view of the Mind-Only school, even if there are no external objects, but if there are external objects, this is also a hypothetical way, which is also unreasonable. Because the measurable thing must be established by the measure at this time, otherwise it is meaningless to establish the result of measurement for the hypothetical measurable thing. The result of measurement that considers external objects as measurable is the fundamental view, and it is also contradictory that there is no establishment of the third result of measurement established by measurement.
