It is unreasonable to say that, because the Sautrāntika school also admits it, namely, "This applies to all." And, the *Tarkaratna* says, "Therefore, the self-cognizance pramana-phala, in terms of nomenclature and tenets, are mostly in agreement." Therefore, it is said. Now, if someone asks, is there a contradiction between the pramana-phala that Acharya Dharmakirti spoke of in the context of the two pramana-phalas, and the pramana-phala of the Mind-Only school as spoken of in the *Tarkaratna*? There is no contradiction. Because in the Mind-Only school's view, when establishing the pramana-phala of sense consciousness, there is no object of measurement other than the apprehended aspect. But in the Sautrāntika school's view, at that time there is an external object of measurement other than the apprehended aspect, therefore it refers to the pramana-phala that takes the apprehended aspect, which has no external object, as the object of measurement. Some say that the blue that has become the nature of knowledge is the object of measurement, and after its appearance arises, the knowledge that is newly non-deceptive towards it is the pramana, and the pramana that directly realizes it is called the fruit, which is unreasonable. Is the blue that has become the nature of knowledge the apprehended aspect of the blue-grasping sense consciousness or not? If not, then it does not become the meaning of the apprehended aspect being spoken of as the object of measurement here. Furthermore, that phenomenon should be an external object, because it is the blue that has become the object of measurement of the blue-grasping sense consciousness, and it is not determined simultaneously with it. Both reasons are admitted. If it is the apprehended aspect, then the blue-grasping sense consciousness, the blue that has become the nature of knowledge, should not be the cause of creating the image for you, because you and it are the same entity. The negation of the reason is admitted. Also, is that blue-grasping sense consciousness self-cognizant or other-cognizant towards it? If it is the former, then it contradicts its appearance. If it is the latter, then the blue-grasping sense consciousness should be other-cognizant towards the blue that has become the nature of the blue-grasping sense consciousness, because that is admitted. If admitted, then it should be manifest to it, because that is admitted. If admitted, then that phenomenon should be self-cognizant and manifest to its own essence, because that is admitted. If admitted, then that phenomenon should not be other-cognizant towards the blue that has become its own nature, because it is self-cognizant and manifest to its own essence. The second case is, in the auto-commentary of the *Tarkaratna*: "According to the Mind-Only school's view, the apprehended, the apprehender, and knowledge, although they do not exist, but as the object of measurement, the measuring agent, and the fruit, are established as they appear."

As it is said, those with aspects, appearing as the apprehended object, are the measurable. The appearance of grasping that is the valid cognition. Considering self-awareness as the characteristic of the result, like the experience of pleasure and pain of the measurable, the valid cognition, and the result, they consider it to be one in time and essence. The false aspect, the imputation that appears as meaning, is the measurable. The consciousness that grasps it is the valid cognition. Considering the term of imputed self-awareness as the result, they consider the measurable and the valid cognition and result to be like the appearance of hair, etc., and prohibit them from being one. The meaning of what was said is that, in general, both the Sutra and Mind-Only schools accept the measure and result of making the apprehended aspect the measurable. However, there are differences in the apprehended aspect. The Sutra school considers the appearance of its aspect from the door of arising from external objects as the apprehended aspect. The Mind-Only school considers that even though there is no external object, consciousness itself appears as the apprehended due to the power of habit, and that is the apprehended aspect. Therefore, the Truthful Aspectarians consider that as the measurable, and the grasping aspect that completely cuts it off is the valid cognition, and they consider the self-awareness that experiences it as the result. Applying the measure and result of making the apprehended aspect the measurable to the Truthful Aspectarians also refers to this. The apprehended aspect in the case of the two measures and results is the apprehended aspect in which consciousness itself appears as the grasper and the grasped due to the power of habit, even though there is no external object. Here it says: 'The cessation of one is caused by the habit of someone awakening, therefore the mind is definitely not dependent on external objects.' Because it is said like that. The False Aspectarians consider the apprehended aspect that appears as meaning to be the imputed measurable. The consciousness that actually grasps it is the valid cognition. The self-awareness that appears to experience it is considered the imputed result. That consciousness that actually grasps it is not the apprehended aspect itself, so it is the imputed self-awareness, but in its own essence, it is the self-awareness characteristic. Therefore, the measure and result of the self-awareness characteristic taught from the time of 'when the self is placed as an object' is also accepted by the False Aspectarians. In short, the apprehended aspect is true in consciousness, which is the doctrine of the Sutra school and the Truthful Aspectarians. The doctrine of the False Aspectarians is that it is not true anywhere in the meaning consciousness. If one understands that when the apprehended aspect is made the measurable, there will be no confusion about the difference between the self-awareness characteristic and the imputed one in the result, then if there is an apprehended aspect nowadays, then consciousness
