Furthermore, for the eye consciousness that perceives blue, the object appearing as blue is the subject of the proposition; it is consciousness because it is clear and cognitive. Secondly, the eye consciousness that perceives blue and the blue that appears on it are the subject of the proposition; they are not different entities because they are simultaneously determined as objects. By the same reasoning, what appears to the eye consciousness at its own time is the substance of consciousness, and it is established that there is no external object separate from it. Therefore, establishing the principle of Mind-Only is based on the assumption that the appearance aspect is real. If the appearance aspect is false, then what appears to the eye consciousness at its own time is not real in either the external object or consciousness. Like seeing hairs by someone with blurred vision, although it does not exist in reality, it is an imputation that appears due to the power of the habitual impressions of beginningless perception. Therefore, the apprehended appearance aspect is not established as real. Since it is not established, the apprehending aspect that depends on it is also not established as real, and it is asserted that only self-awareness, self-illuminating consciousness, which is the unity of the apprehended and the apprehender, is truly established. Secondly, the mind is the subject of the proposition; it is momentary because it disintegrates without depending on another disintegrating cause that arises later than its own cause. Thirdly, it is established by refuting the existence of parts. Regarding this, there are two aspects: stating the assertion and refuting it. Firstly, some say that every moment has the three parts of arising, abiding, and ceasing, and each of those three also has the three parts of arising, abiding, and ceasing because it is a conditioned phenomenon. Therefore, since a moment has endless parts, an indivisible moment is impossible. Secondly, there are three ways to refute: refuting through analysis, refuting through extreme consequences, and refuting through contradiction with scripture. The first is: does the smallest limit of time exist or not? If it exists, it contradicts the absence of an indivisible moment. If it does not exist, is it because all time is long, or because time does not exist at all? If it is the former, it is unreasonable because without a small basis of reference, there is no long that depends on it. If it is the latter, it contradicts that every moment has the three aspects of arising, abiding, and ceasing. Furthermore, if we examine whether it becomes shorter or not after dividing, it is also unreasonable. Do the three aspects of arising, abiding, and ceasing of a moment become shorter than a moment or not? If they become shorter, it contradicts the indivisible moment. If they do not become shorter, then those three are not earlier or later parts of a moment because they have not become shorter in relation to the basis of division, the moment.

Moreover, if we examine the unimpeded power of matter, it is also unreasonable. Does the unimpeded power of matter have momentary parts or not? If not, it contradicts the absence of momentary parts. If so, then the first moment of the unimpeded power of matter would become non-material, because it is separated from the result by the later material moment. Secondly, it is impossible for there to be only one moment, because all moments have the nature of three. If you admit this, then the three moments do not exist, because one moment does not exist. Furthermore, a kalpa and a moment are equal in length, because they are the same in endless components. If it is a thing, then it must be permanent, because if it is a thing, it must exist between arising, abiding, and ceasing. Does the present moment exist in its own second moment, or does it not? If it does not exist, it contradicts the absence of momentary parts. If it exists, then it becomes permanent. Therefore, the belief that there are no momentary parts is simply a lack of understanding of Dharmakirti's reasoning of the power of reality. Thirdly, in the Pramāṇavārttika it is said, "In the final stage, because there is no complete change, a moment has no parts." This contradicts the above view. The second part has three points: refuting the debate about phenomena being mind, refuting the debate about mind being momentary, and refuting the debate about moments being partless. The first part has two points: refuting the debate about atoms and consciousness being the same moment, and refuting the debate about truth and falsehood and delusion being unreasonable. The first point is: if the partless of the atom's direction and the partless of the moment of consciousness are the same and undifferentiated, just as atoms are destroyed by the reasoning of six combining at once. Āryadeva said, "As a moment has an end, so should the beginning and middle be examined. Because of the three natures of a moment, the world does not abide in a moment." Using this reasoning, the partless moment of consciousness will also be destroyed, if you think so, they are not the same. If the three times of past, present, and future arise simultaneously, then the present consciousness has the parts of past and future, but because the three times do not arise simultaneously, the present consciousness does not have the components of past and future things, because the past and future do not exist in things.
