Whatever harms another dharma is the definition of being contradictory to that other dharma. Thirdly, some say that in some cases, according to logical treatises, blue and yellow, etc., are said to be contradictory. Is this contradictory? It is not contradictory. Just as a "cow related to a horse" is named with a related name, it is only because it is impossible for mutually different things to exist that it is called by the name "contradictory." Some also say that this definition is not reasonable because it is impossible to establish contradiction on one dharma. Therefore, that which becomes the harmed and the harmer is the definition of contradiction, because establishing contradiction requires two dharmas. Then, if heat and moisture are established as the definitions of fire and water, what can prevent it? This is not reasonable because heat does not pervade water, and moisture does not pervade fire. These two cannot exist together. If definitions are established separately, then the objects to be interpreted will also change separately. If you say so, then it is the same for the former. The harmer does not pervade the harmed, and the harmed does not pervade the harmer. These two cannot exist together. If definitions are established separately, then the objects to be interpreted will also change separately. Furthermore, becoming mutually beneficial and altruistic things will lead to becoming the definition of cause and effect, etc. There are endless statements to be made. The key is that just as smoke is taken as the basis and established as being related to fire, it is also necessary to take the harmer as the basis and establish it as being contradictory to the harmed. Regarding this, if it is not based on one basis, but is handled only in a general way, then there are three situations: mutually harmed and harmer, only harmer, and only harmed. The first situation is like permanent and impermanent. The second situation is like the wisdom that realizes selflessness, which is only a harmer to self-grasping. The third situation is like the opposite of that. On the same basis, it is impossible to be mutually harmed and harmer, because on a vase, the permanent cannot harm the impermanent, and in the sky, the impermanent cannot harm the permanent. This is what I understand. Secondly, classifying from the perspective of the basis, there are two types: co-exclusive contradiction and mutually exclusive contradiction. The first has four: the definition of co-exclusive contradiction, the place where contradiction exists, the opposite of the harmed

What time is it? It is the measure that determines contradiction. Firstly, some say that the characteristic of co-exclusive contradiction is that it is unreasonable to say that the harmed and the harmer exist in two objects, because the collection of the harmed and the harmer is impossible, and if individual instances are established, then it will not be pervasive like the characteristic of cause and effect. In response to this, great scholars also believe that the characteristic of co-exclusive contradiction has been refuted. Although Manjushri said so, it is necessary to establish the characteristic of co-exclusive contradiction. This is an inappropriate statement. Because here, the opponent refutes the characteristic of the place where contradiction exists, but not the characteristic of co-exclusive contradiction. Therefore, according to our own system, the place where contradiction exists, the harmed and the harmer, each have their own characteristics, and the characteristic of co-exclusive contradiction that exists on them is established in general. This is Manjushri's view. Not arising dependent on one's own continuum, but arising powerless due to the proximity of other dharmas, this is the characteristic of the harmed that is the basis of co-exclusive contradiction. One that does not arise dependent on the continuum, but causes others to arise powerless, this is the characteristic of the harmer that is the basis of co-exclusive contradiction. Any dharma that harms another dharma is co-exclusive contradictory with that other dharma. If classified, there are co-exclusive contradictions that are the nature of consciousness, and co-exclusive contradictions that are the nature of things. The former is like certainty and imputation. The latter is like hot touch and cold touch. Some say that it is unreasonable to consider co-exclusive contradictions as sentient beings, such as snakes and mongooses. If so, then cuckoos and donkeys would be established as having a master-servant relationship. Secondly, there are two: reality and refuting disputes. Firstly, co-exclusive contradiction does not reside in things that have the same essence and whose contradictory opponents do not exist as entities, because both the harmed and the harmer of co-exclusive contradiction must exist as entities. Moreover, this is established in the continuum, but not in the moment, because the meaning of the harmed and the harmer here is established in cause and effect, and cause and effect cannot be established in a single moment. Secondly, in the realm
