There are two types. The first is like calling some people lions and some medicines crow's feet. The second is divided into two types: based on possessive relationships and based on causal relationships. The first type is divided into four: establishing a general name on a specific, establishing a specific name on a general, establishing a collective name on an individual, and establishing an individual name on a collective. The first is like establishing the object of eye consciousness as form. The second is like establishing the consciousness arising from three conditions as sense consciousness. The third is like establishing what arises from the consciousness caused by the parts of letters and is heard by ear consciousness as what arises from the consciousness caused by letters and is heard by ear consciousness, and calling one side of a cloth burned as the cloth is burned. The fourth is like the sound of a drum and the sprout of barley. The second type is divided into two: establishing the name of the cause on the effect and establishing the name of the effect on the cause. The first is like establishing the sun's rays as the sun. The second is like establishing a correct argument as inference. Furthermore, if we distinguish names, there are two types: explanatory reasoned names and applicative reasoned names. The first is like the name "Buddha." The second is like the name "tree." If we take the name "sea-born" as an example, there are four possibilities: having both explanation and application, having neither explanation nor application, having explanation but no application, and having application but no explanation. The first is like a lotus born from the sea. The second is like a stone. The third is like a frog born from the sea. The fourth is like a lotus born from dry land. If we ask whether these two are real names or imputed names, then the explanatory reasoned name has both, while the latter is clearly only a real name. The definition of a word: the general sound that appears to indicate the essence and distinctions of a thing from something that does not contain many names. The definition of speech in the distinction between speech and word: the general sound that appears to indicate the essence and distinctions of a thing from something that does not contain many words, and is also the object of acceptance and rejection for people. This and the speech in the distinction between body, speech, and mind have different meanings, this

Because one is the general sound, and the other is the specific sound. Furthermore, if we differentiate between name, word, and speech, firstly, it is stating the essence; secondly, it is action; thirdly, it is the agent; fourthly, it is the purpose; fifthly, it is the source; sixthly, it is the relation; seventhly, it is the location; eighthly, it is the imperative statement, thus there are eight. The first is like the word "tree." The second is like "going to the tree." The third is like "the tree makes fire." The fourth is like "water the tree." The fifth is like "fruit comes from the tree." The sixth is like "the branch of the tree." The seventh is like "a bird's nest is on the tree." The eighth is like "Hey, bring the tree!" These have two types: the specific sound and the general sound. The first is the expresser of attachment, and the second is the expresser of reality, both of which are included in the categories of name, word, and speech. Secondly, from the perspective of the object, there are two types: the sound that expresses dharma and the possessor of dharma, and the sound that expresses class and collection. The first has two aspects: negation and affirmation. Firstly, some say that the sound of "a cow is not a horse" is an example of a sound expressing the possessor of dharma. It illustrates that the object intended by the speaker and listener is the audible object that shows the characteristic itself. The sound of "the cow's not-horse" is an example of the sound expressing dharma. It illustrates that the object intended by the speaker and listener is the audible object that shows the characteristic as the basis itself. Saying this is unreasonable, because when saying "the cow's not-horse," the not-horse becomes the basis of the cow. Because that sound is the audible object that shows the object itself intended by the speaker and listener as the basis. If you accept that, then when saying "the cow's white," the white becomes the basis of the cow. Furthermore, some say that the audible object that expresses the exclusion of other characteristics is the definition of the sound expressing dharma, and the audible object that expresses the non-exclusion of other characteristics is the definition of the sound expressing the possessor of dharma. Others say that the sound of "all knowables are existent" is the possessor of dharma, and it becomes the definition of the sound expressing dharma. Because it is the signifier. If it is not established, then it becomes so, because existence is the sound that expresses that it is understood as the characteristic of all knowables.
