For example, using the term "bottle" will not lead to understanding "cow." If there is no fault, it is because "that" and "bottle" both have a similar bulging shape, so they are confused and clung to as a bottle. Then, the person who relies on the term "bottle" to cling to the bottle, it is unreasonable that you would never confuse the name of the bottle with the bottle at any time or place, but at some times confuse the bottle with the name of the bottle. Because you confuse the two as one due to their similarity. As it is said, "If confusion arises from similar things, then there will be no confusion at any time or place." Here, it is not that the two are confused as one in every place, because it is possible to distinguish the two in some places. As before, proving that the two are not confused as one at all times is evident in the view of the 'Treasury of Reasoning' self-commentary. Second, establishing one's own system is divided into three aspects: definition, classification, and determining its meaning. First, the definitions of what is expressed and what expresses are, respectively: what is to be understood from convention, and the convention that makes meaning understood. Second, there are two types: the common classification of what is expressed and what expresses, and the non-common classification of what expresses. First, taking the example of expressing a bottle with the sound "bottle," there are what is expressed and what expresses at the time of speaking, and what is expressed and what expresses at the time of clinging. What is expressed and what expresses at the time of speaking are divided into the actual what is expressed and what expresses, and the clung-to what is expressed and what expresses. The actual what is expressed is like the general meaning of a bottle. The actual expressing is like the general sound of saying "bottle." The clung-to what is expressed is like the self-character of a bottle, and the clung-to expressing is like the self-character of the sound of saying "bottle." Nowadays, if the actual what is expressed by sound is pervasive with non-self-character, then it is only what those who admire the 'Treasury of Reasoning' think in their minds, but if it is the actual expressing, then it still seems incomprehensible that it is pervasive with non-self-character. There is no difference between the views of the great self-natured ones, because the hearing that arises after hearing the sound

It is considered that in conception, the sound appears to express this meaning, which is regarded as the actual expresser; and what appears to be expressed is regarded as the actual expressed. There is no distinction between the actual and the adhered to in the act of entering, because at the time of entering, the actual object of conception and its own nature become one. There is also no distinction between the two expressers at the time of entering, because at that time the general sound appearing in conception and the sound of its own nature appearing in hearing are confused and entered into as one. The second is divided into three: division by way of essence, division by way of object, and division by way of function. The first is divided into four: letters, names, words, and speech. The first is divided into definition and classification. First, some say that the essence of speech that manifests both names and words, that is, the own-nature of sound, is the definition of a letter, which is unreasonable, because after the prior and subsequent moments of sound and the prior and subsequent moments of hearing are grasped separately, the object that is grasped as one by discrimination is called a letter. Otherwise, one moment of hearing should hear one letter all at once, because one moment of hearing hears the own-nature of a sound all at once. If accepted, letters will be understood gradually. This contradicts the scriptures. The self-system holds that it does not show meaning from its own essence, but as the basis of both names and words that show meaning, it is an imputation of multiple moments of sound gathered together. Secondly, according to the Indian view, there are fourteen vowel letters and thirty-seven consonant letters. Shantipa said, "Here there are fourteen vowel letters, and there are thirty-seven consonants." According to the Tibetan view, there are four vowel letters and thirty consonant letters. The first is: i, u, e, and o. The second is from ka to a. Name is divided into definition and classification. First, some say: a collection of multiple letters, a hearable thing that only shows the essence of things. Others say: a collection of multiple letters, a sound of multiple moments that shows the essence of things, which is unreasonable, because if it is a name, it must not be a sound.
