The reason for determining that there are three types of inverted clinging is because it is said, "To be powerless towards a side is doubt," and so on. Secondly, from the perspective of essence, it is a collection into one mind that does not understand, because all three are the same in not understanding the reality of the object. Therefore, know that all three non-valid minds are minds that do not understand from the perspective of essence, and that both valid cognitions are self-aware direct perception for their own essence, and that the object to be measured also ultimately converges into one self-characteristic. Thirdly, there are three types: the mind that does not understand, wrong knowledge, and doubt. The first has two aspects: definition and division. The first is the consciousness that is empty of understanding its own object as either this or not this. The second is divided into three types of minds that do not understand: those that have not completely entered their own object; those that have entered but whose investigation is not complete; and those that have completed but have not found it. The first is like the mind that grasps the three aspects by someone who does not know reasoning. The second is like the mind that investigates when asked whether sound is permanent or impermanent. The third is divided into three types of minds that have not found it: because there is no object to be understood; because the mind that understands is corrupted; and because it is not an object to be known. The first is like decisiveness. The second is like the conceptual thought in the continuum of a person whose continuum is corrupted by the mistaken cause of clinging to sound as permanent, not understanding the momentariness of sound. The third is like the mind that does not understand the objects of the beginning of the eon due to object, time, and nature. There are two types of wrong knowledge. First, the definition is: the consciousness that, although its own object appears clearly or relies on contradictory signs and clings to its own object as one-sided, is harmed by something that is not its own object. Second, the division has two types: conceptual and non-conceptual wrong knowledge. The first is like clinging to a speckled rope as a snake, which is a confusion about appearance; clinging to the present blue as the past blue, which is a confusion about time; and clinging to the shapa tree and the cedar tree as the same kind, which is a confusion about the object. Non-conceptual wrong knowledge includes the eye consciousness that sees two moons, which is a confusion of the eye consciousness; and the consciousness of clear appearance in a dream, which is a confusion of the mind consciousness. There are also two types of doubt. First, the definition is that some people think, "Although clinging to this, it is also possible that it is not this." Therefore, although clinging to this, it also

It is said to be a "possible thought." This is unreasonable, because the sound is permanent, holding to the false view of holding to the one and only permanence, is the subject to be proven. Because it has that characteristic, any thought that holds sound to be permanent may think that sound is impermanent. Some people, in order to cut it off, say that it is a thought that "even if it holds to it, it may hold that it is not it." This is unreasonable, does it refer to one entity of mind, or to successive minds? If it is the former, then it is doubt, then it must be manifest. If it is doubt, then it must be the characteristic of one entity of mind. If it is the latter, then the sound is permanent, holding to the false view of holding to the one and only permanence, is the subject to be proven. Because it has that characteristic, any thought that holds sound to be permanent may later become holding sound to be impermanent. The self-view is: even if it holds to it, without the function of holding to it disappearing, it may think that it is not it. Secondly, classification, divided into manifest and latent two types, the first is: what produces real doubt, for example, after doing a fire offering, will one obtain heaven or not such a thought. If classified, divided into equally holding and predominantly holding two types, the first is: is sound permanent or impermanent such a thought. The second, divided into meaning transformation and meaning non-transformation two types, the first is: is sound permanent or impermanent, probably the possibility of impermanence is greater such a thought. The second is: is sound permanent or impermanent, probably the possibility of permanence is greater such a thought. Second, latency, like a seed in a box, when it encounters conditions it will become two ends, that is, relying only on vows, thinking that there is water in the old well of the ancestors, or thinking that there is no water there, and all the thoughts relying on uncertain reasons are like this. The opponent says: from the made reason to infer the thought of holding sound to be permanent, this becomes doubt. Because from the measurable reason to infer the thought of holding sound to be permanent is doubt. The answer is that there is no fault, because from the made reason to infer the thought of holding sound to be permanent, it can be prevented by showing the valid cognition that contradicts the common basis of made and permanent. But from the measurable reason to infer the thought of holding sound to be permanent, it cannot be prevented by showing the valid cognition that contradicts the common basis of measurable and permanent, because for it, there is no valid cognition that can show contradiction. If the measurable is the reason for establishing sound as permanent
