Now it is not a definite result. Therefore, it itself will not become a valid cognition. As it is said, regarding these three situations, it is also said in the "Treasury of Reasoning": The valid cognition of ordinary beings, takes and abandons certainty itself. The noble ones are free from conceptualization, it is said to arise from meditative absorption. Those with inconceivable wisdom, their wisdom cannot be measured. Thus it is said. Sixth, because the gods may be deceived by various causes of illusion. Therefore, the later valid cognition of an object that functions through its meaning, is not through inference that should be understood as a valid cognition. Therefore, the sign that has that nature or result, the very nature of the thing, is determined as the result of the thing itself, because it is the cause of the knowledge of the sign-possessor. Because without such a thing, inference does not exist. It does not depend on the later valid cognition intervening. In other places, when the manifest and the things that appear there arise, if there is no determination of difference, then it should be known that the intervention of the later valid cognition will not deceive. And, just as it is completely determined, it generates certainty on that, therefore it itself is a valid cognition, therefore it is not without exhaustion. The initial knowledge that appears as fire and water, even without habituation, even if it has already been grasped by the valid cognition of one's own continuum, because there is a cause of illusion. It does not have the ability to generate certainty later, therefore, through the intervention of the later valid cognition, it is established as a valid cognition, therefore it becomes a valid cognition from others. When habituation is obtained and it is clear, it arises from itself, just as it was said. Therefore, direct perception is a valid cognition for both self and others, while inference only arises from itself, it should abide in this. Dharmakirti said: The determination of ability is also, inference and, the direct perception that appears to function only changes from itself. And, the direct perception that intervenes is also, some only change from themselves, that is, having eliminated all doubts of illusion, and having understood the difference of nature. Some only change from others, that is, having a cause of illusion. In accordance with these, it is also said in the "Treasury of Reasoning": Both the meaning and the kind and self-awareness and, inference

All are determined by oneself. Do not trust beginners and those who are not confident. Those with causes of error are determined by others. Those who are effective and accustomed are determined by inference. Thus it is said. Seventh, some say that if the object of determination and the means of determination are the same, then the latter means of determination will become a cut-off knowledge. If they are different, then since the other object is established as a real entity, it will not become established as another real entity. Others say that since the object of entry is the same and the object of appearance is different, it is free from both faults. This is not reasonable, because the object of entry of the former means of determination will become permanent, the latter means of determination will become a cut-off knowledge, and since the object of entry and the object of appearance of direct perception are not different, there are three faults of contradicting the promise. Therefore, our own system is that the object of entry of the former and latter means of determination is always the same, but the substances are different, so it is free from both faults. Some say that if the means of determination that is considered to be determined by others does not cut off superimposition on its own object, then it is not a means of determination, and if it cuts off, then it will become self-determined. If so, there is no fault, because direct perception becoming a means of determination for an object does not depend on cutting off superimposition. Furthermore, some say that the self-awareness direct perception of the Samkhya school that experiences the happiness of its own continuum should be able to bring about certainty by its own power without deceiving itself about its own object of measurement, because it is a self-determined means of determination. If you accept this, then the certainty brought about by it should be able to determine that the self-awareness direct perception of the Samkhya school's continuum does not deceive the happiness of that continuum, because you accept it. If you accept this, then that Samkhya person, not experiencing happiness with self-awareness direct perception, should not be an opponent who desires with a belief in reality. If you say so, then that Lokayata should not be an opponent who desires with a belief in reality without the object of measurement of inferential means of determination, because in his continuum, the inference that realizes smoke as having fire determines the meaning of the collection of smoke and fire. Furthermore, some say that the inference in the continuum of the Lokayata should be able to bring about certainty about its own object of measurement by its own power, because it is a self-determined means of determination. If you accept this, then the certainty brought about by it should be able to determine the object of measurement of the inference in that continuum, because you accept it. If you accept this, then that Lokayata should not be an opponent who desires with a belief in reality without the object of measurement of inference. If you say so, then
